You can now choose up to 25 colored labels per task in Planner and Planner tasks in Tasks in Teams. More labels allows for greater flexibility when organizing tasks. Use labels to flag risks, signal delays, help fine tune task prioritization, clarify accountabilities, or categorize tasks around a theme spanning multiple buckets. Anything you can think of that requires color-coding and tagging tasks, labels can help.

More labels has been a top customer ask and we’re happy to make it available now to all organizations. Try it out in the mobile and web/desktop versions of Planner and Tasks in Teams.

The lack of labels or add ons is a deal killer when trying to convince teams to move from Trello to Planner.

Looking at work management across the enterprise, sometimes we have over 20 people working on one planner board. Multiply that from the context of having multiple boards, multiple teams (because some of the people collaborating support multiple teams), and it is difficult to truly manage the work at an individual level. If you want Planner to scale as a work management application across several groups and teams, you need to look at the user experience from the eyes of the individual worker and also how they work.

Traditional projects were set with teams and generally people were allocated to projects. In the new ways we are working, we need to be more collaborative and less siloed, enabling teams to form around work while people manage their individual work across many projects, contexts, teams, etc. being able to quick know what I've been assigned and what I've delegated to others is key.

Just one example, If I have an account plan with different swim lanes of things we are working on, and an account team of ten people working on that account - i.e. AE, PS, IS, etc. the board may have been created by an account owner managing the work. however, as a PS, I support multiple account owners on multiple teams and I'm working to manage my work across all of those teams, boards and plans. I need to quickly be able to see my tasks assigned by due date across those groups so I can better manage my work.

Also, I need to be able to transfer a work item from email to create a task in Planner with the email text and attachments attached.

This would enable teams to get out of email, get out of death by meeting with hundreds of hours of status calls, and enable us to work around the work that needs to be done while simultaneously being able to manage tasks across several different teams, contexts, etc.

The future of work is much like a data lake vs. segregated ponds only a few can play in.

    Hi everyone,

We have updated our Copy Plan experience – please try it out today!

This improvement includes the ability to choose an existing group or team to copy the plan into (or choose to create a new group). You’ll also be able to customize what gets copied over. Attachments can only be copied over into existing groups/teams.

You can get more details here – https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/planner-blog/expanding-the-copy-plan-and-filtering-features-based-on-your/ba-p/1483491

Agree that you should be able to connect existing planner plans in teams.
