Hi everyone,
We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams of all sizes collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.
The new Microsoft Project has been redesigned. You can see your tasks on a Gantt chart (“Timeline”) view, a Board view (similar to Planner’s), and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users. I encourage you to look at the links below and the attached GIF for a sneak peak.
With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

Thank you for the feedback!
As an update, we’d like to pursue improvements to the checklist functionality in Planner, but don’t have any near-term plans.
If you’d like to vote on task dependencies/linking/referencing, please head over here: https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525/suggestions/13976094
We will keep you updated when there are any changes. Keep the votes coming and comments coming!
Thanks,

Strongly needed. We are currently using workaround ... but if a third party software has this with Planner why not implement it directly (at least parenting to be trackable)...

Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for your feedback and sharing how you use labels. We’ve been working on improving our labels experience, and will continue to do so. With that, we are working on increasing the number of labels that you can use in Planner!

1) We use labels to mark our project streams but also internal PMO activities
2) Although a far stretch 20 labels to have enough room ...*why set a hard stop for this?
3) Color changing could be useful albeit not really that important - I would say moving the labels up/down is more important.
4) Labels are fine as they are - the latest update that incorporated them onto the card actually takes a bit more space but not an issue.
5) I would say add task parenting (in Agile you need Epics/Stories/Tasks) These levels are simply not there right now and one cannot tell if a task that is in a Sprint bucket is actually part of which Epic etc... -

This is indeed VERY VERY Important to have!
I've also copied a plan today to demo how Planner is used, then 2 completely different plans in other channels were affected and the old data is lost ... Not sure how this is acceptable.
A type of recycle bin is a must so such situation can at least be saved at a later point.
Auto - backup / restore could also help.
I have to agree with all the comments below. Releasing a paid product to address a functionality that is really basic for Planner is not a solution. At DXC we might seriously reconsider moving to another product.
