We’ll send you updates on this idea

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience. We have updated our Copy Plan experience – please try it out today!

This improvement will include the ability to choose an existing group or team to copy the plan into (or choose to create a new group). You’ll also be able to customize what gets copied over. Attachments can only be copied over into existing groups.

You can learn more here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/planner-blog/expanding-the-copy-plan-and-filtering-features-based-on-your/ba-p/1483491

Suggestion: Company-Wide Plan Templates section with button on left bar, then when clicking on the desired plan template see an option to "Create New Plan from Template on Which Group?" and show a group selector. Hopefully it's done soon. Multiple customers we moved into an all Office365 Ecosystem unhappy they have to create a new plan for every project, wasting time on repetitive tasks. They are considering moving back to other tools.

    Hi everyone!

A workaround for this is that we’re currently rolling out improvements to the Copy Plan experience.

This improvement will include the ability to choose an existing group or team to copy the plan into. You’ll also be able to customize what gets copied over.

I will share another update when this is available to everyone through Planner’s web experience. Please let me know if this unblocks your scenario.

Need this feature to either be able to change an existing Plan's Group or select it when copying an existing plan. If the Plan's group is not the Team Channel's Group, the plan is not available to be added as an existing Plan to a Team channel. We'd use it to be able to use a Master Plan Template for repetitive and complex tasks, then be able to copy it to a new one and change its Group. Planner DOES allow to select a group when creating a new plan but not when copying an existing channel.
