    Hi everyone,

We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams of all sizes collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.

The new Microsoft Project has been redesigned. You can see your tasks on a Gantt chart (“Timeline”) view, a Board view (similar to Planner’s), and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users. I encourage you to look at the links below and the attached GIF for a sneak peak.

With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

    Thanks everyone…

So here we are in 2021 and progress on this is glacial to say the least!

Signposting to a massively complex additional subscription product is NOT a solution. All we ask is a simple GANNT view along side day/week/month in the calendar. If it is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN please have the decency to come out and say it so we can all move on.

So come on Microsoft, show us Planner isn't going to be a legacy product discarded in to the pit of doom!

That's really disappointing. Looks very much like a direct push to get sales of Project up, at the expense of a much simpler option. I guess that's the difference between an included add-on to Office 365 rather than a full on project management tool that is way to complex for lots of us occasional users. The only reason I started using Planner was because it was included. Looks like it's back to Trello for me :-(

So it sounds like "bring the functionality of a modern Gantt chart to life in a new project management service" means YET ANOTHER service is on it's way, please don't do this, there are to many options for planning/to-do lists/task management in Office 365 already!

Just integrate a basic GAnnt view into planner and it's job-done!

    Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for your feedback and sharing how you use labels. We’ve been working on improving our labels experience, and will continue to do so. With that, we are working on increasing the number of labels and colors that you can use in Planner!

This is essential functionality, especially for correcting typos!, and very strange that it has not been available right from the start. Please add the ability to edit/delete comments

I simply cannot believe such a basic feature is missing! Trello has this functionality right from the start.

Plan owner should be able to have full control over comments, individual user should be able to have control over their own comments.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for your patience! Since our last update, we’ve released a few features to address the feedback around notifications.

We’ve heard loud and clear that comment notification emails should go to only users who are relevant to a given task. Therefore, we’re excited to announce we’ve updated the integration between Planner and Groups so that users following the group associated to the Planner plan will no longer receive a group email in their personal inbox when comments are made for tasks they have never commented on before. Group emails notifications for all task comments in a plan are still sent to the group mailbox. We believe this behavior should ensure comment notification emails are scoped to a more relevant audience of those who have previously commented on the task instead of being sent to all members of the plan.

Additionally, we’ve added more context to the comment notifications…

OK, so 2018 was the last update, please update us even if it's to say we're not doing it. Ideally I would like notifications to be OFF by default, and enabled by users on a needs basis.

Dear Planner users, Planner is looking to learn your experience with managing “personal tasks”. The feedback you provide would help the product to optimize the features toward your needs, and would benefit other users who use the product like you.

We’d very much appreciate if you could take 7-10 mins to fill out this survey. Thank you!

This would be useful to have. I have used Planner as my personal tracker (also use it for company wide projects). I am going back to trello for personal tracker because I too don't need all of the other cruft assicated with Planner.

My suggestion of two option for a new Plan:

    1: Full Planner funtionailty
2: Simple mode - just Kanban cards - with simple notifications of due dates if they are set
