There is another thread on checklists that could work if planner had ability to assign individual items on checklist to various users.

As an update, we’d like to pursue improvements to the checklist functionality in Planner, but don’t have any near-term plans.

Need ability to add several checklists -being able to rename them , plus assign @ team member to each item on checklist with ideally individual due date if required. The task cannot be marked complete until all items in checklists are completed.
Make it like Trello, can display colours and names , add labels , lots of colours. Please colour tasks with label colour to make it visual.
