Definitely needed. I don't want to delete buckets and tasks because they are useful for statistics and to track progress, but I want to hide them from general day to day view.

Thanks for the feedback on the Filter menu and cross-plan search functionality!
Next we’d like to pursue widening the Filter metadata to include other fields like assignee, description, and checklists. We’re also working with a search team in Office to align with UX and functionality across Office 365.
This work hasn’t been scheduled yet, but we will update this thread as soon as it is.
Please continue to share details on the filter and search functionality you’d like to see in Planner!
Thanks,

Thanks for your feedback!
We’d like to add custom columns to Planner, but don’t have anything planned at this time. We’re working on three big initiatives that are landing later this year (stay tuned!) and will likely start work on recurring tasks soon after.
Please continue to vote as we utilize UserVoice heavily to order our product backlog and will adjust regularly if things change!
Thanks again for your patience and feedback,

This would take care of a number of things I would like to have such as story points/ time estimations, time worked etc. I would also like to be able to include User stories directly in the task in a proper format rather than just in a jumbled free text field, and have a documentation links field. Having custom fields would take care of all that. In general, I don't understand why there aren't more opportunities to include Addins- if you look at Trello, it is really basic, but addition of PowerUps means you can extend the capability in more directions depending on what you need. The lack of other peoples' dev input in Planner is a major blocker in my opinion.

We’d love to hear more about the following:
1. When would you delete or archive a plan?
2. How long would you like it to be accessible?Feel free to include any specific scenarios where archiving a plan would be useful.
We appreciate your feedback and look forward to reading through your comments!
Cheers,

This makes long term sprint planning extremely unwieldy and wasteful of time, especially as creating new buckets has to be done to the far right of all other existing buckets, and there is no ability to move a bucket quickly to another position. You have to drag it through all the old buckets and due to the width taken up by each bucket, this can take multiple attempts to get a new bucket all the way to the left. Ridiculous design.
