As I've mentioned on a similar ticket, this would be a key feature for my organisation and would help planner stand up to criticism that it does not compete with other task management solutions.
We require the ability to subscribe to update on a task, without being assigned the task or without the need to have to create the functionality ourselves via flow (though we've not checked if this is possible).
Please can this be implemented as an option - perhaps when a task is assigned, an option could be available to assign the task as an assignee or as a subscriber/watcher?

This is something that is considered a key feature by project teams at my organisation and would be used as soon as it's implemented. There needs to be a way to view all of the tasks from multiple planners, be they in different channels or teams - though my own use case focuses on the cross-teams aspect.
Please look into this MS.

This would be a particularly useful feature, as Greg Staky has mentioned previously, for managers and team leaders to see the tasks from multiple planners spanning different teams.
This is something that would most definitely be used as soon as it became available since this would allow more management level users to move across from other planners such as JIRA.

This. Is. Such. A. Basic. Feature!
No idea why this isn't something that can already be done. I have a planner task that someone has merged with another and they've just copied all the comments over with time and date stamps and it's a mess. But of course, I can't edit it, or tidy it up in any way. So that's that ruined for anyone outside looking in...

As an update, since we’ve still been seeing issues around date formatting, so we’re pursuing another fix that should help: If you’re using Planner within Teams, we will default to using the same language/local as Teams.
If you’re seeing this issue persist outside of Teams and your language/locale is set properly for your Office account, please let us know in the comments below!
Thanks,

@Planner team - is there any update on this functionality? This is the ONLY point stopping me from using this for collaboration on a long term programme of work and it's disappointing to say the least that such a basic feature is still not available.

This is something that has just become an issue on a board used within my organisation for some pretty important stuff. The inability to restore a planner task that was either deleted mistakenly or otherwise is a key component that I admit I'd previously overlooked.
Microsoft please get on this ASAP, add it to the roadmap and make sure this is a key new feature for planner. Without it, parts of my organisation will reject using planner for fear of losing key information - as has already happened!! Total deal-breaker.
PS - I can see that this was raised on the Planner AMA in June last year (2019) but there was no answer in the follow-up summary from anyone on the Planner team about the possibility of this going into production!?
