As an update, since we’ve still been seeing issues around date formatting, so we’re pursuing another fix that should help: If you’re using Planner within Teams, we will default to using the same language/local as Teams.
If you’re seeing this issue persist outside of Teams and your language/locale is set properly for your Office account, please let us know in the comments below!

Date format also incorrect when using the planner webpart in sharepoint online. The sharepoint site, and o365 user have the correct regional settings however the plan in the webpart is stuck using US date format. Can't even use the URL trick to change from en-us to en-au as this is not accessible when adding a web part in. Maybe the default format for all products should be DMY, would keep most of the planet happy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_format_by_country

Thank you for your feedback on recurring tasks.
We’ve completed our initial designs (thanks a lot to your scenarios/details!) and are waiting for this to move it’s way up our backlog. We should have a scheduling update in November when work on three BIG initiatives wraps up. Stay tuned!
