It is completely idiotic that we have to publish a calendar feed in order to integrate a Microsoft product with another Microsoft product. Projects are confidential in almost every company. How can publishing a public feed of that information (yeah, the links are quite long and complicated, but someone could see the information if they tried really hard) be the way you choose to go?

Just have Planner and Outlook talk to each other like other Microsoft products.

    Hello!

We’ve just released our integration with To-Do as a first step towards a larger task coherence initiative.

Today, you can view and edit Planner tasks you’ve been assigned in To-Do’s new Assigned to me list. This is available on to-do.office.com and To-Do’s Windows, Android, and iOS apps.

Here are more details on this integration: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Planner-Blog/Planner-and-To-Do-integration-bringing-you-a-more-cohesive-task/ba-p/553485

Our work in this area is not done, and we’re relying on you to help us decide what’s next, please keep the suggestions coming!

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

    Hello all,

As an update, we’ve paused work on this item to pursue wrapping up work on a few other high priority asks.

We appreciate your patience and feedback on this, and hope to resume work on this soon. Please keep voting and letting us know that you’d like to see in a Planner UWP app!

    Hi everyone,

We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.

We’ve brought the Planner board view to the new Project! Along with this, you can see your tasks on a Timeline view, and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users.

With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

Thanks everyone for your patience, I encourage you to check out the new Project, and even start a trial – see the attached GIF

    Thanks for your feedback!

With due date options in the Filter menu, and the ability to group tasks by due date category, we’re hoping that this will help Planner users find and organize upcoming dates and deadlines.

We understand there is still an ask for sorting tasks within an existing grouping, please continue to use this thread to share feedback on this.

    Cheers,

    The Planner Team

Beyond the iCalendar feed, we will continue to explore our options for adding tasks to Outlook Calendar automatically. We would love to hear more of your thoughts on the following:
-What information from tasks would you like to carry over to Outlook Calendar?
-How many different plans would you like to view on your Outlook Calendar?
-Any specific scenarios or examples of how this would fit into your workflow

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

The current paradigm of publishing the calendar and importing into Outlook isn't feasible for organizations that value internal and/or customer privacy. These two Microsoft products should talk to each other without having to publish the calendar publicly. In Outlook a group calendar is created for each plan, why can't that group calendar have the tasks on it?
