Hi everyone,
We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams of all sizes collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.
The new Microsoft Project has been redesigned. You can see your tasks on a Gantt chart (“Timeline”) view, a Board view (similar to Planner’s), and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users. I encourage you to look at the links below and the attached GIF for a sneak peak.
With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

Thanks everyone…

Users are expecting more functionality out of Planner. Needing to use third party software to make Planner work isn't going to be a sustainable solution.

Best feature of Project - dependencies
Best feature of Planner - sending email notifications & letting a large group of users directly edit Task details/datesCombine these functionalities in one piece of software!

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your patience. We have updated our Copy Plan experience – please try it out today!
This improvement will include the ability to choose an existing group or team to copy the plan into (or choose to create a new group). You’ll also be able to customize what gets copied over. Attachments can only be copied over into existing groups.
You can learn more here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/planner-blog/expanding-the-copy-plan-and-filtering-features-based-on-your/ba-p/1483491

This is too risky. Why does Planner let any member permanently delete a Task? What is the purpose of even having an 'Owner' if everyone has the same rights to make permanent changes? Members should not be allowed to delete a Task or Bucket or even the Task Description.

Can a Task be marked as viewable for the Assignee only, or to the whole team?

There are numerous different suggestions on User Voice regarding the need to restrict member access on Tasks and Buckets, please do something about this, there is too much risk with open access.

Must have the ability to limit Task and Bucket editing/deleting, to the owners only. Isn't reasonable to build a plan in Planner if anyone can accidentally delete all the work.

Am always concerned when writing a Task that one of the 50 people in the group will edit the verbiage without me knowing. This leads me to think I should be working in Excel with a read-only file. Would like to have Planner have the option to only allow edits to be made by the Owners.

Hello All! The priority feature is complete! Priority is rolled out to production across the Web and Teams. It’s also available in the mobile app an in the beta endpoint for the MS graph API. We’ve also updated the charts view to include a priority chart .
Please give it a try and let us know what you think! If there’s something you’d like us to improve upon, please find and vote on that suggestion or create a new one so we can prioritize accordingly.
for more info on the priority field, check out:

Hello! We wanted to provide an update to our status below. As we announced in our previous status update, our initial integration with To Do was our first step in a journey of bringing all your Microsoft Task Management services closer together, including Outlook and Planner. Through To Do, you can see your Planner tasks within Outlook on the Web.
However, the continuing feedback on this post makes it clear that there is a desire for more work to be done to improve this experience. We want to make sure this feedback and votes aren’t getting lost by being added to this existing post.
Instead, we’d like to make sure you have a forum to express these continuing pain points / desires, and a way to vote for which ones you’d like us to work on first (and how we should prioritize those asks against the many other great asks…

Microsoft wants to get paid for their work, I get it. But if this means everyone has to buy Project Plan 1 in order for them to see the activities/tasks, then this won't work.
