This would be a way to compete with Googles Classroom tasking. Maybe just implement that kind of grouping, then set the list to create the task for each user as a subtask of the original. That would allow you to see who finished and who didn't, and how much of the class is on task\target. You could set up a nested grouping that works on the subtask of a subtask paradigm, splitting up work among teams.

    Hello all,

As an update, we’ve paused work on this item to pursue wrapping up work on a few other high priority asks.

We appreciate your patience and feedback on this, and hope to resume work on this soon. Please keep voting and letting us know that you’d like to see in a Planner UWP app!

    Cheers,

    The Planner Team

Please make a desk app for this. In any project, the ability to collaborate in the planning once the basic plan is built is a key thing. Teammates develop a sense of responsibility to one another, and they keep up with that responsibility when it can nag their desktop with a message telling them to stay on the ball. I can see so much of this helping students in college, like me.
