Planner connectors do exist in Flow - unfortunately the task data produced by List Tasks and Get Task Details is very incomplete - Created By, Plan and Bucket are all represented by the internal Id when the display names would be more useful, and Assigned-to and Label don't seem to be there at all. The ability to list check list items as a contained element would also be useful.

In their present form, the Planner actions are of very limited use, and do not really solve the problem of extracting task data from Planner in a meaningful way.

As an update, our colleagues in To-Do have delivered the ability to create tasks directly from Outlook.com!

To-Do has rolled out the Tasks Pane for Outlook.com’s Mail & Calendar, and is also the new Tasks for Outlook.com! With Planner’s & To-Do’s integration, we hope that To-Do will become a central hub for all of your personal tasks, and that switching to Planner to collaborate with others is seamless!

Here’s more information on the To-Do’s task experience within Outlook: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/using-microsoft-to-do-with-outlook-com-416865a1-0c4d-4e69-af6f-f98ffce3747c

PowerApps - QuickTask does this very nicely, but it should be an OOB integration with Outlook 365

... on reading the other comments - I like the idea of similar functionality to "Send to OneNote". A "Send to Planner" enabling target plan selection would be a good way to integrate, with the subject email automatically attached to the generated task.

My organisation has disabled Flow as a matter of policy which makes use of the Flow-based widgets impossible for us.

IMO, enabling task creation from an incoming email is an essential integration feature - if we are already expecting Outlook Tasks to be replicated into Planner, this would seem like a logical step anyway.

It would be really helpful to be able to configure status values in addition to the 3 default values of not started, in progress, completed - testing, UAT, deployed, blocked/at risk, on hold/deferred, cancelled/rejected are all additional status values that would be useful.

Better yet, start with the 3 defaults and allow user-defined config in the plan set-up

The comments only save properly if an email is sent - it would be really useful to have the option to save timestamped comments WITHOUT sending an email to the assigned person every time

    Thanks for your feedback!

We’d like to add custom columns to Planner, but don’t have anything planned at this time. We’re working on three big initiatives that are landing later this year (stay tuned!) and will likely start work on recurring tasks soon after.

Please continue to vote as we utilize UserVoice heavily to order our product backlog and will adjust regularly if things change!

Thanks again for your patience and feedback,
    The Planner Team

Hello! Since this is one of our top asks from users (and has been for quite a while), we wanted to provide a quick update here. As mentioned in our last update, our team has been heads down shipping some recent integrations, such as the Tasks app in teams and Tasks in Docs (both of which have initial versions rolling out now!).

Recurring tasks (and the other top UserVoice asks) are still high on our backlog. I’ll provide updates here as this feature gets closer to being shipped! We also may use this forum to reach out to you, our engaged users, with design questions we have—so stay tuned if you’d like to help us bring you the best version of recurring tasks!

In the meantime, it’s great to see so much active engagement here. We continue to iterate on our initial designs as we get more feedback from users,…

This is needed for managing recurring tasks such as cyclical reporting deadlines

It would be really good to be able to re-order (Move Up/Move Down) subtasks in a check-list.

ATM, if I've entered dependent subtasks in the wrong order, the only way I've found to re-order them is to delete and re-enter which is a RPITA.

Beyond the iCalendar feed, we will continue to explore our options for adding tasks to Outlook Calendar automatically. We would love to hear more of your thoughts on the following:
-What information from tasks would you like to carry over to Outlook Calendar?
-How many different plans would you like to view on your Outlook Calendar?
-Any specific scenarios or examples of how this would fit into your workflow

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

We don’t have any major updates to share at this time – Export to excel is still our first step towards delivering better reporting capabilities in Planner. You can find updates and discussion on this suggestion here:

Thank you for your patience and feedback! If you have any other suggestions on how you’d like to utilize reporting functionality in Planner, please comment below!

Hello All! The priority feature is complete! Priority is rolled out to production across the Web and Teams. It’s also available in the mobile app an in the beta endpoint for the MS graph API. We’ve also updated the charts view to include a priority chart .

Please give it a try and let us know what you think! If there’s something you’d like us to improve upon, please find and vote on that suggestion or create a new one so we can prioritize accordingly.

for more info on the priority field, check out:

We’d love to hear more about the following:
    1. When would you delete or archive a plan?
    2. How long would you like it to be accessible?

Feel free to include any specific scenarios where archiving a plan would be useful.

We appreciate your feedback and look forward to reading through your comments!

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

It would be really good if the Planner Icon worked the same way as the Teams Icon does, and can be changed by editing the plan.
