Hello all,
As an update, we’ve paused work on this item to pursue wrapping up work on a few other high priority asks.
We appreciate your patience and feedback on this, and hope to resume work on this soon. Please keep voting and letting us know that you’d like to see in a Planner UWP app!
Cheers,
The Planner Team

We’ve just released a Filter menu in Planner where you can filter tasks by due date, label, or assignee. You can also enter a keyword to search for a task by it’s title!
We value your suggestions and comments highly – thank you for contributing to this feature.
Let us know what you think!
To send us a message, open the Office Help menu (question mark icon in right corner of Planner or Office 365 menu) and select “Feedback”. Include the word “Planner” and it’ll make it’s way to us.
OR
To share your thoughts with the Planner community, include #MicrosoftPlanner in a Tweet.Cheers,
The Planner Team

We’re in the process of finalizing designs for a Planner add-in for Outlook. From the add-in, users will be able to create tasks for Planner without having to leave their inbox. The email subject and body will autofill as the task title and description, respectively, and users will have the ability to set plan, bucket and assignees . We appreciate your feedback and patience and look forward to this first step in what we hope to be a greater integration with Outlook!

As an update, our colleagues in To-Do have delivered the ability to create tasks directly from Outlook.com!
To-Do has rolled out the Tasks Pane for Outlook.com’s Mail & Calendar, and is also the new Tasks for Outlook.com! With Planner’s & To-Do’s integration, we hope that To-Do will become a central hub for all of your personal tasks, and that switching to Planner to collaborate with others is seamless!
Here’s more information on the To-Do’s task experience within Outlook: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/using-microsoft-to-do-with-outlook-com-416865a1-0c4d-4e69-af6f-f98ffce3747c

Thanks for the feedback on the Filter menu and cross-plan search functionality!
Next we’d like to pursue widening the Filter metadata to include other fields like assignee, description, and checklists. We’re also working with a search team in Office to align with UX and functionality across Office 365.
This work hasn’t been scheduled yet, but we will update this thread as soon as it is.
Please continue to share details on the filter and search functionality you’d like to see in Planner!
Thanks,

Seconded on Planner Manager. $2/month import all Planner tasks, various views (Calendar, Gantt) and export to Excel for reporting. I just found it, it's working well so far. Also it includes their Outlook add-in for linking Planner tasks to Outlook (sync tasks, link to emails).

Hello! We wanted to provide an update to our status below. As we announced in our previous status update, our initial integration with To Do was our first step in a journey of bringing all your Microsoft Task Management services closer together, including Outlook and Planner. Through To Do, you can see your Planner tasks within Outlook on the Web.
However, the continuing feedback on this post makes it clear that there is a desire for more work to be done to improve this experience. We want to make sure this feedback and votes aren’t getting lost by being added to this existing post.
Instead, we’d like to make sure you have a forum to express these continuing pain points / desires, and a way to vote for which ones you’d like us to work on first (and how we should prioritize those asks against the many other great asks…

I just found this third-party Outlook add-in for Planner that lets you link emails to Planner tasks, edit Planner tasks in Outlook, and sync Planner tasks to create new Outlook tasks. I've been using it just an hour so far but it is exactly what I needed.
14-day free trial, then $1/month. Bargain,

Microsoft released an iOS native app for Planner last week 5/17/17. It's very much a version 1.0, but it's a real step in the right direction.
Needed features:
* View tasks by due date across all plans
* View tasks for another person across all plans
* Search text to find plans or tasks
* Move tasks between plans
* Offline edit with sync. Offline read is in place, which is advantage over web
* Zoom out to see more taks
* Landscape view for iPhone+
* Create new plans via appDavid Trounce supported this idea ·
