Is there any progress on this?

Allow us to reorder the labels and specify which appear first both in the list and on the Task cards.

USE CASE: We use labels to describe features of the task that should appear in a logical grouping. We can't do that in the current implementation.

The order is confusing--we can't change it, but Labels don't appear on the cards in the order they're listed. For example, Pink is down the list, but if selected it appears first on the card. Why?

What if we have multiple color labels? We use labels to indicate which services we're offering, so there can be eight or ten color labels on a Task. If this is implemented, we must have the option to choose which color label to apply.

Add your vote to "Add a custom background to a plan" instead of this one.

Allow reordering labels, and/or at least display them on cards in the order in the list.

USE CASE: We use labels to describe features of the task that should appear in a logical grouping both in the list and on the Task card. We can't do that in the current implementation. Example: Pink is down the list but jumps to first place if selected on a card. Please fix this!

We complete dozens of buckets per year, and they scroll off to the right in a long train. Sometimes we need to go back to an old task when the same project returns or to share info with the next team taking it over, so we don't want to delete the buckets. But having a hundred buckets is not useful or workable. Please create a way to either:
    - Archive them so they're in a hidden archive list where they can be located and renewed if necessary; or
    - HIde buckets from my view while others may still have them appear in their Board view; or
    - Export buckets to a separate "Expired" or "Archive" plan that removes them from the current plan but where they could be copied back into the active Plan.

We’d love to hear more about the following:
    1. When would you delete or archive a plan?
    2. How long would you like it to be accessible?

Feel free to include any specific scenarios where archiving a plan would be useful.

We appreciate your feedback and look forward to reading through your comments!

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

We complete dozens of projects each month, each of which is a Bucket containing multiple tasks. We need to keep track of the completed tasks, but after a couple of months, we don't need them cluttering up our work area. We'd like to archive it so it is not in the current Plan but available if we need it. Sometimes, we return to an old project (bucket) that is completed and start it up again.

Planner Buckets needs an archive capability. A way to set a bucket to "Archive" or otherwise hide buckets is critical. We complete a dozen Campaigns (buckets) a month and the completed items scroll off to the right. We should have a way to archive or hide
    -- completed buckets, or
-- buckets without changes over a certain age, or
-- buckets with zero tasks due, or
-- buckets by date (last year?), or
-- buckets we select as "Archived."
A filter to display archived buckets, especially with options to display them by year or age, would be helpful. Plus, as others have said, having to drag a bucket across dozens or hundreds of bucket columns is extremely poor UI design.

Related to Archiving buckets: how about the ability to select a number of buckets and export them into a separate Plan, so that we could export all buckets from last year as the 2020 Plan archive and then delete them from the active Planner plan?

You can now choose up to 25 colored labels per task in Planner and Planner tasks in Tasks in Teams. More labels allows for greater flexibility when organizing tasks. Use labels to flag risks, signal delays, help fine tune task prioritization, clarify accountabilities, or categorize tasks around a theme spanning multiple buckets. Anything you can think of that requires color-coding and tagging tasks, labels can help.

More labels has been a top customer ask and we’re happy to make it available now to all organizations. Try it out in the mobile and web/desktop versions of Planner and Tasks in Teams.

I would like to see the labels have a more obvious effect in all displays, including board and calendar. For example, change the outline to match the label color or fill the task with the color in both the calendar and the board.

We need more labels. You say it's in development. When can we expect it?

White on white is not the best UI. At least a shade of gray or pale color would be better. It would be great if we could upload our own images or if you offered similar background images as are available in SharePoint lists.

The due date is critical, but Planner's calendar displays them as a uniform part of the task. I'd like the due date to be distinguished and highlighted with color so I can quickly see what's coming due and how many tasks are due on any day.

The calendar view is an almost meaningless wash of uniformity. Tasks need to be distinguished by color, preferably with options on how to apply colors: Assigned team members, Departments, or an independent color panel that we can flexible apply to each task. We need more colors, too.
