    Hi everyone,

We have updated our Copy Plan experience – please try it out today!

This improvement includes the ability to choose an existing group or team to copy the plan into (or choose to create a new group). You’ll also be able to customize what gets copied over. Attachments can only be copied over into existing groups/teams.

You can get more details here – https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/planner-blog/expanding-the-copy-plan-and-filtering-features-based-on-your/ba-p/1483491

Thank you for your feedback! We’ve improved the ‘Copy task’ dialogue so you can chose a different plan to send a copy of a task to! We’ll be exploring and expanding the ways in which you and your team can organize work in Planner, and hope this will be a helpful step forward.

Here’s an article to learn more about this feature: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=872349

Let us know what you think below! Thanks again for taking the time to vote for this idea.

    Cheers,

    The Planner Team

How can we reopen closed suggestions that don't actually meet the brief? As other commenters have said, this function doesn't move tasks, it replicates blank versions of them.

This needs more thought. The intuitive way to use this is with one level of project managers contributing to a higher level programme. As a result this should integrate to Project properly (another topic, I realise) but critically we need to be able to report by dashboard that collates all plans in the group to a single overview.

This would give you a much better understanding of workloads as they will be in context of other sub-projects rather than in isolation.

    Consider my situation.
I have an Engineer, Market lead and Ops lead. They all have their own plan to cover the work they're coordinating, however:
    - They are also resources on each others' plans (Ops lead will be working on an Engineer's task and vice versa)
    - Each PM also shares cross-stream resource across the business, so will need to understand how individuals are loaded across all 3 sub-plans.

Currently there's no way to do this aside from having 1 plan that's used by all 3 leads, however with the volume of tasks that's not practical. I also need ownership of the plan by each lead, they shouldn't have to share a single board.

There is another suggestion that would also cover this by having multiple boards across a plan:
    https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525-microsoft-planner-feedback-forum/suggestions/13490136-multiple-boards-per-plan

Given the progress on this (multiple plans per group) I don't anticipate the multiple board idea to be implemented any time soon.

I'm desperate to get people on board with this to offer a consolidated approach to project/task management across the business, but when these obvious omissions are here, the idea gets picked apart instantly and people revert back to Excel, Basecamp, Asana etc.

    Hi everyone,

We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.

We’ve brought the Planner board view to the new Project! Along with this, you can see your tasks on a Timeline view, and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users.

With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

Thanks everyone for your patience, I encourage you to check out the new Project, and even start a trial – see the attached GIF

We don’t have any major updates to share at this time – Export to excel is still our first step towards delivering better reporting capabilities in Planner. You can find updates and discussion on this suggestion here:

Thank you for your patience and feedback! If you have any other suggestions on how you’d like to utilize reporting functionality in Planner, please comment below!

We’d love to hear more about the following:
    1. When would you delete or archive a plan?
    2. How long would you like it to be accessible?

Feel free to include any specific scenarios where archiving a plan would be useful.

We appreciate your feedback and look forward to reading through your comments!

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

As an update, our colleagues in To-Do have delivered the ability to create tasks directly from Outlook.com!

To-Do has rolled out the Tasks Pane for Outlook.com’s Mail & Calendar, and is also the new Tasks for Outlook.com! With Planner’s & To-Do’s integration, we hope that To-Do will become a central hub for all of your personal tasks, and that switching to Planner to collaborate with others is seamless!

We’ve just released a Filter menu in Planner where you can filter tasks by due date, label, or assignee. You can also enter a keyword to search for a task by it’s title!

We value your suggestions and comments highly – thank you for contributing to this feature.

Let us know what you think!
To send us a message, open the Office Help menu (question mark icon in right corner of Planner or Office 365 menu) and select “Feedback”. Include the word “Planner” and it’ll make it’s way to us.
    OR

Should definitely be added - we use tags for priority and Grouping by Person/Bucket/Progress isn't enough - adding Grouping by Tag should be fairly straightforward.

An 'archive plan' system needs to be implemented. Especially if there's going to be more than 1 plan/group in the future
