Are MS aware that there are several Uservoice requests for this - the requests may be worded differently but they all ask the same thing - Permissions !!!

Why do MS assume that everyone needs full access to everything, deleting things can be done accidentally and on purpose. Read only solves this problems and allows oversight without messing things up. If Planer backend is Sharepoint then surely this is possible.

Why do Microsoft insist that everyone that might need to see information will also need the ability to delete/edit/***** up everything as well (unintentionally or otherwise). Surely Microsoft managers have oversight of things within Microsoft but not the ability to dabble in the details - or are they permitted to delete whole areas of code and project data at a whim .............this might explain a lot !!! View only permission at a minimum is needed to make this workable.

There are several uservoice entries for this - some say read only, view only, permissions, etc. They all point to the same thing that is needed - Permissions. Apparently MS assume that if anyone can see a Plan within Planner they must also need the ability to edit and delete tasks !! This is crazy, it means that Planner is no more than a shopping list and not a serious business tool.

There are several Uservoice threads for this but they are all being ignored, MS have no interest in making their product usable, you have to look elsewhere for that.
