    Hello all,

As an update, we’ve paused work on this item to pursue wrapping up work on a few other high priority asks.

We appreciate your patience and feedback on this, and hope to resume work on this soon. Please keep voting and letting us know that you’d like to see in a Planner UWP app!

    Cheers,

Beyond the iCalendar feed, we will continue to explore our options for adding tasks to Outlook Calendar automatically. We would love to hear more of your thoughts on the following:
-What information from tasks would you like to carry over to Outlook Calendar?
-How many different plans would you like to view on your Outlook Calendar?
-Any specific scenarios or examples of how this would fit into your workflow

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

As an update, our colleagues in To-Do have delivered the ability to create tasks directly from Outlook.com!

To-Do has rolled out the Tasks Pane for Outlook.com’s Mail & Calendar, and is also the new Tasks for Outlook.com! With Planner’s & To-Do’s integration, we hope that To-Do will become a central hub for all of your personal tasks, and that switching to Planner to collaborate with others is seamless!

Here’s more information on the To-Do’s task experience within Outlook: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/using-microsoft-to-do-with-outlook-com-416865a1-0c4d-4e69-af6f-f98ffce3747c

    Hello!

We’ve just released our integration with To-Do as a first step towards a larger task coherence initiative.

Why To-Do and not Outlook tasks?
We are integrating with To-Do because Outlook tasks is being replaced with the To-Do app. This experience has already shipped for Outlook Web users, and the To-Do team is working on bringing this to Outlook Desktop apps as well.

Today, you can view and edit Planner tasks you’ve been assigned in To-Do’s new Assigned to me list. This is available on to-do.office.com and To-Do’s Windows, Android, and iOS apps.

Here are more details on this integration: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Planner-Blog/Planner-and-To-Do-integration-bringing-you-a-more-cohesive-task/ba-p/553485

Our work in this area is not done, and we’re relying on you to help us decide what’s next! This thread has grown to encompass a lot of different ideas and pain points, so we’d love to break it out to help us prioritize and dive deeper into user…

Thank you for your feedback on recurring tasks.

We’ve completed our initial designs (thanks a lot to your scenarios/details!) and are waiting for this to move it’s way up our backlog. We should have a scheduling update in November when work on three BIG initiatives wraps up. Stay tuned!

Any progress on this? You responded MS in January, and it is nearing July. Recurring is a fairly well understood concept. If we could do recurring in Planner half as good as we can do it in Outlook Tasks that would be a great start.

Right now we have to train all our people to never mark a task complete, but to simply change the due date to the new due date (1 week/month/quarter/year out.) Not Ideal as if a task is marked complete, you can miss it on the next due date. That is bad for estimated tax payments, etc.

We have a TON of things that are due on a recurring basis. Sales tax returns for various states, estimated payments for taxes, certain processes and reports that need to be run before month end starts, etc. Outlook Tasks can do it but those are locked in Outlook, and cannot be seen on a central dashboard like Planner. Also easy to transfer responsibility for Planner tasks from Person A to Person B if there is a change in someone's position. Also easier to get an overview to make sure nothing is missed if someone is on vacation/out sick/etc.

This limit has been removed – users can now have thousands of tasks assigned to them.

We’re continuing work around performance and actively monitoring how many users hit this limit. So far, we only have seen users with unchecked Flows/automated task assignments hitting this limit.

We are planning on publishing formal documentation around all of our Planner limits once we’ve completed more performance work, but don’t have anything to share at this time.

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

We’re in the process of finalizing designs for a Planner add-in for Outlook. From the add-in, users will be able to create tasks for Planner without having to leave their inbox. The email subject and body will autofill as the task title and description, respectively, and users will have the ability to set plan, bucket and assignees . We appreciate your feedback and patience and look forward to this first step in what we hope to be a greater integration with Outlook!

Yes! I never use the default bucket view. Always want by due date personally. SHould be a user preference.

We don’t have any major updates to share at this time – Export to excel is still our first step towards delivering better reporting capabilities in Planner. You can find updates and discussion on this suggestion here:

This is awesome, but hoping there is a plan to add "My Tasks" to an iCalendar style link so I can see everything I need to do regardless of planner.

Thanks for the feedback on the Filter menu and cross-plan search functionality!

Next we’d like to pursue widening the Filter metadata to include other fields like assignee, description, and checklists. We’re also working with a search team in Office to align with UX and functionality across Office 365.

This work hasn’t been scheduled yet, but we will update this thread as soon as it is.

Please continue to share details on the filter and search functionality you’d like to see in Planner!

    Thanks,
    The Planner Team

    Thanks for your feedback!

With due date options in the Filter menu, and the ability to group tasks by due date category, we’re hoping that this will help Planner users find and organize upcoming dates and deadlines.

We understand there is still an ask for sorting tasks within an existing grouping, please continue to use this thread to share feedback on this.

    Cheers,

    The Planner Team

Massive sorting enhancements needed. If you look for "sort by date" without the quotes a LOT of feedback shows up. Would be nice if an MS admin could consolidate all of these into one request.
