You can get that information for individual projects from the Chart view or if you make a plan a favorite plan that information will also be visible in the Planner Hub view.

Have your browser do the spell checking, no reason to have every web app implement their own spell checking.

Planner already offers the integration with your calendar and it maintains a task list, I'm personally not interested in using email to trigger anything, a collaborative tool like this should be used to reduce email clutter.

If Microsoft offered an API, I'm sure people could get things linked to a variety of task-list type applications, all without the need for email as the pipe. Personally I think going into Planner to see your task list is the right solution as opposed to wanting them in multiple places but an API would let you do it either way.

If Planner allowed for dependent tasks (that can't be completed until another task is completed) the final task you want would just be another task dependent on one or more preceding tasks being completed. Assign it to the manager and you're done.

Or, allow for sub-projects so a larger project can be broken down to sub-projects that can have tasks in common.

I agree, but the bigger problem is this tool generates too much unwanted email. I don't see the need for email generation at all but can't turn any of it off.

If an organization embraces Planner as a tool they should be monitoring their tasking in the tool, not by waiting for an email message. People who are managing the project should be doing likewise and certainly shouldn't be getting an email everytime anyone completes a task.

I wouldn't even consider using this for a real project until Microsoft lets me turn off the emails or preferably make the default no emails

Canceled, put on hold, hibernated, ...

I agree, you might even get well into a project and decide to put it on ice. Would be nice to get those off the plate but still available to review or bring back in the future.

I'm not personally fond of using email to generate tasks. If you have a mobile phone a simple app interface is better. More email addresses to remember, presumably one per project or you have to exactly type some project identifier is difficult.

What I like about collaborative project tools is they reduce the use of email. Sending an email would have to be followed up with checking to see if it really worked, or was it misaddressed or sent to the wrong project or ????

Either assigned when another task is completed or pre-assigned but not shown as tasked until the task that is required to be completed first is actually completed.

Often (normally) the tasking is pre-determined when the project is planned. I don't want to have the project flow interrupted by actually having to assign a task when a required predecessor task is completed.

For example, a particular task may be followed by someone validating the work. I already know who is going to do that, I just don't want the task showing up in their to-do list of tasks before the preceding task is complete AND I don't want to make it some sort of implied task to assign the following task. It should all flow automatically.

If you could see upcoming work that hasn't yet been actively tasked to you, great.

Thank you so much for your patience! The wait is almost over. We are currently working on improvements to the copy plan experience to allow users to create their own templates to meet their organizations scenarios.

    Smart templates, a must.

Projects that auto-repeat are also desirable

Some projects are repeated, just different dates and people. Let me create a template so I can use it for new projects that can then be modified for dates/location/people instead of trying to tediously duplicate that effort every time.

Hello All! The priority feature is complete! Priority is rolled out to production across the Web and Teams. It’s also available in the mobile app an in the beta endpoint for the MS graph API. We’ve also updated the charts view to include a priority chart .

Please give it a try and let us know what you think! If there’s something you’d like us to improve upon, please find and vote on that suggestion or create a new one so we can prioritize accordingly.

for more info on the priority field, check out:
