Working with tech literate people who value their billable time - they won't use this tool to maximum effect if they have to select the correct view to sorting each time. I upvote the ability to set a default view, whether that be users nominating their own, or, as an owner setting it for all users. The base philosophy behind Microsoft programs like Teams/SharePoint/Planner/To Do is achieving what you need in a minimum of clicks.
