As an update, we’d like to pursue improvements to the checklist functionality in Planner, but don’t have any near-term plans.

We have disabled creating groups for our students. They are able to create groups by creating a new Plan inside Office 365 Planner. Our students are creating improper group names. I have disabled Office 365 Planner because of this.
