Thanks for your feedback!
We’d like to add custom columns to Planner, but don’t have anything planned at this time. We’re working on three big initiatives that are landing later this year (stay tuned!) and will likely start work on recurring tasks soon after.
Please continue to vote as we utilize UserVoice heavily to order our product backlog and will adjust regularly if things change!
Thanks again for your patience and feedback,

Hello! Since this is one of our top asks from users (and has been for quite a while), we wanted to provide a quick update here. As mentioned in our last update, our team has been heads down shipping some recent integrations, such as the Tasks app in teams and Tasks in Docs (both of which have initial versions rolling out now!).
Recurring tasks (and the other top UserVoice asks) are still high on our backlog. I’ll provide updates here as this feature gets closer to being shipped! We also may use this forum to reach out to you, our engaged users, with design questions we have—so stay tuned if you’d like to help us bring you the best version of recurring tasks!
In the meantime, it’s great to see so much active engagement here. We continue to iterate on our initial designs as we get more feedback from users,…

Hello! We wanted to provide an update to our status below. As we announced in our previous status update, our initial integration with To Do was our first step in a journey of bringing all your Microsoft Task Management services closer together, including Outlook and Planner. Through To Do, you can see your Planner tasks within Outlook on the Web.
However, the continuing feedback on this post makes it clear that there is a desire for more work to be done to improve this experience. We want to make sure this feedback and votes aren’t getting lost by being added to this existing post.
Instead, we’d like to make sure you have a forum to express these continuing pain points / desires, and a way to vote for which ones you’d like us to work on first (and how we should prioritize those asks against the many other great asks…

We have completed the checklist feature as a solution for this.
Here is a related thread if you’d like to support or follow the suggestion for assigning checklist items: https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525-microsoft-planner-feedback-forum/suggestions/14924745-assign-checklist-item-to-specific-individuals
An error occurred while saving the comment Cheklists are great, it would be nice if we can have "subtask" functionality - to track start/due date, assigment, etc

Hi everyone,
We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams of all sizes collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.
The new Microsoft Project has been redesigned. You can see your tasks on a Gantt chart (“Timeline”) view, a Board view (similar to Planner’s), and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users. I encourage you to look at the links below and the attached GIF for a sneak peak.
With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

Dear @Planner Team,
Please add this very important future that has been requested 4 years ago! more than 725 comments and 6764 votes (with recent entries) mean that it is important to the people/users!
Answer to your questions:
1. How many custom fields would you use? A: 1-20, depending on the case
2. What kind of fields would they consist of? A: time field (currently planner only offers to enter dates, without time), number fields, text field, list field (of different types)
3. Which (or how many) Plans would you add the same custom fields to? A: Custom fields should have a "plan" scope, but there should be a common repository of custom fields that one can use in different plans
4. And any other information about how custom fields would work within your current Planner workflow! A: User should be able to export custom fields to Excel / JSON file!
