As an update, our colleagues in To-Do have delivered the ability to create tasks directly from Outlook.com!
To-Do has rolled out the Tasks Pane for Outlook.com’s Mail & Calendar, and is also the new Tasks for Outlook.com! With Planner’s & To-Do’s integration, we hope that To-Do will become a central hub for all of your personal tasks, and that switching to Planner to collaborate with others is seamless!

This would be very helpful. Big projects have sub projects on the way to getting complete and it would be nice to have related projects grouped together. The more flexibility in this area the better. Even multiple groups if relevant on a project.
Also makes it quicker to access relevant information and make notes when con calls or group meetings..The more tools available to keep us organized the better.

Deleting or archiving should be mainly up to the user. There are time that you abandon a project because you find it is not viable to pursue any longer. Especially in early stage exploration. It is important to explore projects methodically and not let ideas slip through the cracks and therefore MS Planner is a good tool.
Having an ability to archive when a project is abandon but come back to it at a better time and not having to completely recreate is important.
