Hi everyone,
We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.
We’ve brought the Planner board view to the new Project! Along with this, you can see your tasks on a Timeline view, and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users.
With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

Thanks everyone for your patience, I encourage you to check out the new Project, and even start a trial – see the attached GIF…

As an update, our colleagues in To-Do have delivered the ability to create tasks directly from Outlook.com!
To-Do has rolled out the Tasks Pane for Outlook.com’s Mail & Calendar, and is also the new Tasks for Outlook.com! With Planner’s & To-Do’s integration, we hope that To-Do will become a central hub for all of your personal tasks, and that switching to Planner to collaborate with others is seamless!
Here’s more information on the To-Do’s task experience within Outlook: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/using-microsoft-to-do-with-outlook-com-416865a1-0c4d-4e69-af6f-f98ffce3747c

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your patience! Since our last update, we’ve released a few features to address the feedback around notifications.
We’ve heard loud and clear that comment notification emails should go to only users who are relevant to a given task. Therefore, we’re excited to announce we’ve updated the integration between Planner and Groups so that users following the group associated to the Planner plan will no longer receive a group email in their personal inbox when comments are made for tasks they have never commented on before. Group emails notifications for all task comments in a plan are still sent to the group mailbox. We believe this behavior should ensure comment notification emails are scoped to a more relevant audience of those who have previously commented on the task instead of being sent to all members of the plan.
Additionally, we’ve added more context to the comment notifications…

Thank you for the feedback!
As an update, we’d like to pursue improvements to the checklist functionality in Planner, but don’t have any near-term plans.
If you’d like to vote on task dependencies/linking/referencing, please head over here: https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525/suggestions/13976094
We will keep you updated when there are any changes. Keep the votes coming and comments coming!
Thanks,

Add auditing to the tasks so that there's an audit trail of all changes made and who made the change

As a Director with a remote workforce, I need a way to see the status of my teams tasks. Where they are, and what state the tasks are in. Currently, I can't do that with MS Planner, and it's frustrating I need to go to other best in class tools like Asana or Trello who offer these.

As a user of Tasks, I need a auditability when a task changes. This includes, but not limited to: who moved a task from Bucket A to Bucket B, at what time. Who removed the assigned user, and who was the assigned user.
E.g. Joe Biden removed Assignee Kamala Harris on Feb 2, 2021 at 10:47am ET.
e.g. Joe Biden moved task from Bucket "Review" to "Submit"As a user, I'm frustrated MS products don't have a task management system that is centered around workflows.

Hello! We wanted to provide an update to our status below. As we announced in our previous status update, our initial integration with To Do was our first step in a journey of bringing all your Microsoft Task Management services closer together, including Outlook and Planner. Through To Do, you can see your Planner tasks within Outlook on the Web.
However, the continuing feedback on this post makes it clear that there is a desire for more work to be done to improve this experience. We want to make sure this feedback and votes aren’t getting lost by being added to this existing post.
Instead, we’d like to make sure you have a forum to express these continuing pain points / desires, and a way to vote for which ones you’d like us to work on first (and how we should prioritize those asks against the many other great asks…

As a manager, I 'm frustrated when I see that 40 tasks have changed, but I can't see what specific tasks or checklist items have changed. I'd rather use the free version of Asana or Trello, unless this changes.
Ideally, please allow me to click to see the changes that were recently made. If I miss the pop-up, I don't want to further be frustrated, so give me a way to get to see the recent updates list in the Project.

As a manger, I want to know the tasks my team has on their list and what they're up to. We accomplish 200 tasks per day, and I can't see what my team is assigned to do or not. Currently, I have no way to see what Jeff, or Johnny has assigned, and I need to keep them working.

@admin, the intention of this feedback is not project related. It's for operations of teams and their tasks. I want to be able to see an ongoing timeline behind me of the work we did, plus a schedule of what's ahead for our team. I need a timeline going back 2 years ago of what tasks were worked on at what time.
This also helps when people leave, and the new people can see the history.
As an operations manager, I need a tool to manage my teams tasks. I don't need a project management tool, but an operational tool.
