Wow, WOW and TRIPLE WOW!! Again, this sort of basic stuff was in Jira a decade ago.

Planner can export to Excel, but it can't import??? Creating tasks etc has to be done slowly, manually, painfully.... or you have to pay extra for some janky add-in or write a REST API app.

This really is like going back in time to the 90s.

    Thanks for your feedback!

We’d like to add custom columns to Planner, but don’t have anything planned at this time. We’re working on three big initiatives that are landing later this year (stay tuned!) and will likely start work on recurring tasks soon after.

Please continue to vote as we utilize UserVoice heavily to order our product backlog and will adjust regularly if things change!

Thanks again for your patience and feedback,
    The Planner Team

Yikes! I've just come from a Jira environment. Jira provided this 17 years ago!

"...but don’t have anything planned at this time" = "Yes! We have no bananas."

We’ve just released a Filter menu in Planner where you can filter tasks by due date, label, or assignee. You can also enter a keyword to search for a task by it’s title!

We value your suggestions and comments highly – thank you for contributing to this feature.

Let us know what you think!
To send us a message, open the Office Help menu (question mark icon in right corner of Planner or Office 365 menu) and select “Feedback”. Include the word “Planner” and it’ll make it’s way to us.
    OR
To share your thoughts with the Planner community, include #MicrosoftPlanner in a Tweet.

    Cheers,

    The Planner Team

Also, be able to save filter combinations. The current situation of the filter setting being lost every time you navigate away is horrible. Also, filters that can have SQL like rules to show tasks based on specific criteria.
If you're from a Jira world, this sort of basic board functionality has been available for a decade!

Having just come from a Jira environment, I was stunned that such basic task management functionality isn't part of Planner. Dragging a task from one Kanban column (bucket) to another should be able to change the progress of the task based on some sort of rule or workflow. Having to always set the progress manually and it having no correlation to the bucket is like something from last century.
