The card view restricts the character limit on the plan description, and can't be sorted. Plans would be much easier to review / find if a list view was implemented. There are numerous other requests for this feature.

CC on any activity for a task would be super useful. This would allow someone to easily track updates to and the progress of a task, without them being responsible for completing the task.

Thanks for the feedback on the Filter menu and cross-plan search functionality!
Next we’d like to pursue widening the Filter metadata to include other fields like assignee, description, and checklists. We’re also working with a search team in Office to align with UX and functionality across Office 365.
This work hasn’t been scheduled yet, but we will update this thread as soon as it is.
Please continue to share details on the filter and search functionality you’d like to see in Planner!
Thanks,

This seems like an obvious thing. We have started to use Planner for some key processes, and the inability to find plans as data in the system builds out over time is a real problem.

This would be an awesome feature! I ran into this today, where I would like to indicate that the task is waiting on an end user. Icons should also be selectable / customizeable.

We’d love to hear more about the following:
1. When would you delete or archive a plan?
2. How long would you like it to be accessible?Feel free to include any specific scenarios where archiving a plan would be useful.
We appreciate your feedback and look forward to reading through your comments!
Cheers,

Thank you for the feedback!
As an update, we’d like to pursue improvements to the checklist functionality in Planner, but don’t have any near-term plans.
If you’d like to vote on task dependencies/linking/referencing, please head over here: https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525/suggestions/13976094
We will keep you updated when there are any changes. Keep the votes coming and comments coming!

Thanks for your feedback!
We’d like to add custom columns to Planner, but don’t have anything planned at this time. We’re working on three big initiatives that are landing later this year (stay tuned!) and will likely start work on recurring tasks soon after.
Please continue to vote as we utilize UserVoice heavily to order our product backlog and will adjust regularly if things change!
Thanks again for your patience and feedback,

4 1/2 years now, almost 2400 votes, 170+ comments. Is anyone listening? That's just on this post - there are about 70 posts that mention task dependencies. Such a vital feature, even for a simple and basic app. No, this won't cannibalize Project - I don't need Project for simple processes.

Hi everyone,
We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams of all sizes collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.
The new Microsoft Project has been redesigned. You can see your tasks on a Gantt chart (“Timeline”) view, a Board view (similar to Planner’s), and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users. I encourage you to look at the links below and the attached GIF for a sneak peak.
With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

There are a couple of ideas in this thread related to the same issue. Bulk edit is a great idea, and a nice tweak would be to be able to assign all tasks in a plan to an individual.

As @John Pappa mentioned, even a basic tweak such as increasing field length would be useful.

Come on, Microsoft - it's 2020! And there is not even support for URLs?
4 1/2 years this has been on the pile - 50 comments and 376 votes. What does it take to get this done?Glen Martin supported this idea ·
Agreed - lack of search and list view makes the use of Planner unsustainable over the longer term. There are so many requests for search across all areas of the app, it's hard to even figure out which requests to vote on.
