Add functionality to create dependencies
Add functionality to link tasks with dependencies. One the upper level task is complete the tasks that are dependent on it would become active and notify those task owners.

Assignable sub-tasks, please.
With 2500+ votes and 190+ comments one would expect this to be at least in the planning phase after nearly 5 years.
we are also just switching to MS Teams and thought we could cover our Task assignment with it too but this is basically useless without subtasks that can be assigned independantly. will probly stick with the freeware that I am using right now that can cover all those basics.

Additionally, the ability to assign sub-tasks to others in the team.

Just for grins, I just tried to move my task planning to planner. Got stuck on the very first task without being able to create sub-tasks. Any planning app without sub-tasks is an absolute non-starter. I honestly find it hard to believe that you have customers that can use this app without it!
any update on this? its beeing more than 4 years...
Please add Assignable Subtasks. Thank You :)

Need Sub-Tasks and Recurring Tasks / Sub-Tasks (Recurring Due Dates) ASAP

I don't understand why I would have to fill up a UserVoice Form to get what is obvious to get from a "Planner" App.
Buckets doesn't cut it mainly because it looks like Scrum behavior but it not everybody that uses that kind of thinking when we manage projects and everyday tasks have to be simple.
I use ToDoist and when I was about to move to Microsoft 365 Planner, I started by doing some tests before I migrate but when I saw that a simple Sub-Task cannot be done, I closed the project.
You get my email address so when you want users to use planner as it should work, contact me and I'll see if its worth the try but for now, I'm getting back to my ToDoist.
ToDoist is really more than "Tasks" inside Outlook and it can be not only connected but also incorporated to Outlook and be seen on all devices.
Its just that I pay 48$CAN (4$CAN/month) and it would be free if it was part of Microsoft planner.
Single Due Dates
Recurring Due Dates
Geo-Localization with Notification when you have a task to do at a specific area or place
Sections to divide Topics for parts of projects so you can group projects and tasks

YES, please add subtask facility
Agreed. We are struggling to implement Planner without the ability to create subtasks with Person and Due Date as the checklist is not robust enough. We also need to see each others' tasks at a glance.

Task dependencies are important. Without that, we have to look for outsider solution.
sub-tasks (or 'richer' checklist) are needed to help this be a viable alternative to tools like Monday or Trello. Project is overkill and we'd never roll it out, but because the Teams environment didn't offer a better solution we deployed Monday... now Planner looks like it's becoming more viable but still missing on this...

4 1/2 years now, almost 2400 votes, 170+ comments. Is anyone listening? That's just on this post - there are about 70 posts that mention task dependencies. Such a vital feature, even for a simple and basic app. No, this won't cannibalize Project - I don't need Project for simple processes.

Um item importante para o nosso trabalho
Agree - subtasks which can be assigned to people and have a due date is a requirement for meaningful project management. Dependencies (between task and subtasks) would also be nice - but is second priority from my perspective
This will be a huge help!
