I would also like a more comprehensive tasks such as nesting tasks, creating sub tasks.

Agreed. Need to be able to inter-link tasks. Show dependencies / pre-decessors to trigger tasks etc. Is this in the pipeline?

I agree that having dependencies and predecessors will really help build a critical path needed for every project

I would like to link dependencies as well. This is pretty key to critical hand off items. If you miss your due date and it effects another it should flag like Project.

Until Planner has this functionality, my team is going to not use this tool. Are there any integrations or workarounds?

We should stick to one feedback entry so our votes count better

I would like to throw out the idea of an additional column before "Not Started" labeled "Not Available." All tasks which have a task they are dependent on which is not in the "Completed" column will be automatically put in this column. If one of these tasks is selected, it should highlight all of the tasks it is dependent on (regardless of column). This way you could quickly determine what needed to be done to make the task available.

I think this would be a huge asset. Other planning software like Pivotal Tracker allow dependent tasks in this manner although it is more geared at agile management. They also have items such as epics under which you can assign specific tasks, then see the progress of which tasks under that epic are completed. This is similar to the plan overview, but within a single plan.
