    Hello!

As an update, we are nearing completion for our integration with To-Do. We are very eager to deliver this integration as a first step towards our task coherence vision with To-Do and hope to finish rolling out this integration by end of May 2019.

A common question we receive here is: why are you integrating with To-Do? what about Outlook tasks?

We are integrating with To-Do because Outlook tasks is being replaced with the To-Do app. This experience has already shipped for Outlook Web users, and the To-Do team is working on bringing this to Outlook Desktop apps as well.

With this integration, Planner users will be able to view and edit tasks that have been assigned to them from within To-Do.

We will update this thread as soon as we’re rolling out this feature!

Thank you again for your feedback and patience.

    -The Planner Team

    Hello!

As an update, we have started working on this feature. Your feedback on this thread helped us greatly with understanding the design and requirements for our first iteration. Thank you for your comments and feedback! We will update this thread with any major updates.

Please continue to let us know what we can do to improve Planner.

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

  3. Plans deletion/archive

As I saw that when you delete a Plan all conversations, Groups etc are deleted could be useful to have another Status for that Plans, maybe an "Archived" status, maybe visible in another dashboard or something similar.

We’d love to hear more about the following:
    1. When would you delete or archive a plan?
    2. How long would you like it to be accessible?

Feel free to include any specific scenarios where archiving a plan would be useful.

We appreciate your feedback and look forward to reading through your comments!

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

Beyond the iCalendar feed, we will continue to explore our options for adding tasks to Outlook Calendar automatically. We would love to hear more of your thoughts on the following:
-What information from tasks would you like to carry over to Outlook Calendar?
-How many different plans would you like to view on your Outlook Calendar?
-Any specific scenarios or examples of how this would fit into your workflow

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

  6. Please link Tasks to Outlook (desktop) and also allow users of MS Project to open them in that.

When a Task is assigned, have Planner sent the email alert in the form of an Outlook Task Request (when the request is Accepted, Deferred, etc.) and it sits in the User's Outlook Task list -- have the ability for them to update progress within MS Outlook (desktop) itself -- and let that update Planner.

(Similar features were available as far back as Outlook 2000 without a centralised server system. Now we have cloud, please bring back these features without worrying about MS Project Server / Online sales -- instead, make those "enterprise level" services...)

    Hello!

We are wrapping up work on our first iteration of our integration with Microsoft To-Do and hope to finish rolling this out by end of May!

With this integration, To-Do users with access to Planner will be able to see tasks they’ve been assigned in Planner within To-Do! These tasks will appear in a new “Assigned to me” list in To-Do, and be included in your To-Do task database.

This will be an opt-in experience; when we ship, users will be presented with the option to connect their To-Do account to Planner.

This is the first step towards a broader integration with our colleagues in To-Do and we’re all VERY excited to deliver this integration!

We will update this thread the moment it’s available worldwide!

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

  10. wunderlist, planner and outlook tasks should all live in the same world

Wunderlist, Planner and Outlook tasks should all be part of the same app universe and be easily movable and interchangeable weather the user is using the free Wunderlist, a paid Office 365 subscription or Outlook though a classic Office license (non subscription model).

why so many overlapping task management apps from Microsoft?

From the user perspective one can only see advantages in the integration.

  12. Integrate Planner with Excel for mass updating / entry of tasks

when creating a new plan or maintaining a larger plan the data entry is pretty cumbersome. Integrating this with Excel would make this process much easier and allow the plans to scale better in terms of initial start-up time as well as ongoing maintenance.

  13. Integrate with MS Project in O365

Does this interfaces with MS Project? This would be a much better way of creating, assigning, executing, and tracking project tasks as well as non-project/administrative tasks. Also, maybe the time invested in tasks could flow automatically to timesheets. Reducing or removing the time spent maintaining timesheets would be welcome.

  14. Make the dates in planner show up on the Calendar.

When you set a task's date in Planner, it should also show up on your calendar. I can't see using Planner if it doesn't integrate into your calendar.

  15. Logic Flow Connector

Planner entities (Boards/Tasks) should act both as a trigger as well as an action recipient of Logic Flow as well as Azure Logic Apps. This way we can enable workflows integrating with external SaS apps (VSTS the obvious candidate) as well as internally within O365.
Trigger examples: when a Task is closed, when a Task is (re)assigned, when a Task moved to another Bucket, when a Task is created.
Action examples: create a Task, add comment/attachment, move to another Bucket, change Task priority/assignee (or more according to the Roadmap) - essentially whatever can be surfaced through the graph task api.

  18. Integrate / link Planner tasks to Project Online tasks and Planner plans to Project Online Summary Task

Project Online does not have Agile views of its tasks (such as vertical lists in common agile task tools like Trello, Pivotal, Jira, and now Office Planner). The lack of agile-like boards for Project Online is a huge barrier to development teams, but exec mgmt. wants the rich reporting and resource mgmt. of Project Online. The lack of synchronizing Project Online to external boards makes managing very difficult.

  19. Microsoft Teams Integration Problems

    Microsoft Teams Integration Problems.

When we add tasks to a Teams Project, we cannot add new ones from planner, but we can view them. Also the tasks added from Teams have reduced functionality. All very annoying.
