Sometimes the Labels are not enough, for example if you use it to tag different departments or functions5,437 votes
You can now choose up to 25 colored labels per task in Planner and Planner tasks in Tasks in Teams. More labels allows for greater flexibility when organizing tasks. Use labels to flag risks, signal delays, help fine tune task prioritization, clarify accountabilities, or categorize tasks around a theme spanning multiple buckets. Anything you can think of that requires color-coding and tagging tasks, labels can help.
More labels has been a top customer ask and we’re happy to make it available now to all organizations. Try it out in the mobile and web/desktop versions of Planner and Tasks in Teams.
Currently tasks can be viewed by Assigned To only within a particular Project. It would be helpful to search globally in Planner by Assigned To rather than having to review assignments Plan by Plan. This change would make evaluation of workloads much easier.5,183 votes
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
We would like to hear more about how you would utilize this view. If you have a particular scenario or set of teammates for which you’d like to view tasks for, please share below!
The Planner Team
Currently you can only move Tasks to different Buckets within a Plan/Board. It would be very useful to be able to also copy or move them to different Plans/Boards that you are a member of.4,993 votes
Thank you for your feedback! We’ve improved the ‘Copy task’ dialogue so you can chose a different plan to send a copy of a task to! We’ll be exploring and expanding the ways in which you and your team can organize work in Planner, and hope this will be a helpful step forward.

When completing Buckets it would be nice to be able to hide them so they don't take up space, but you still keep them in the statistics.2,115 votes
The progress descriptions are too simple. You should be able to create new ones, like planning, design, testing etc.1,878 votes
It does not appear to be possible to delete comments once posted. It would be useful to be able to delete and/or edit these comments.1,822 votes
Track the time spent on each card by each member that worked on it would be very useful, further with reports to easily consume this information.
Besides, if tasks were imported from Project (where work hours should be set by task)... time input could help to calculate the completion status.1,816 votes
I can only see 6 label colors and I need 10. Is there a way to create more label colors or some other way to color code categories?1,601 votes
Thank you so much for your feedback and sharing how you use labels. We’ve been working on improving our labels experience, and will continue to do so. With that, we are working on increasing the number of labels and colors that you can use in Planner!
Would be useful to set a task as requiring another task to complete before it can change state.1,486 votes
Need the ability to copy a task, including the checklists and other items within the task. This would allow one to set up a template task, then create many tasks using that template task. This is a different request than the many copy suggestions that have been made already.1,390 votes
Copy task is now available in Planner! To use, click on a task’s details menu and select “Copy task”.
Presently, to define status of a task, there are only three options available with the user, namely, Not Started, In Progress, Complete.
Provision to user's to create more status-tags will help track the status.968 votes
Ability to filter the cards on a board by people, labels and tags to be able to view e.g. only the cards with a specific label or with a specific hashtag in the title912 votes
We’ve just released a Filter menu in Planner where you can filter tasks by due date, label, or assignee. You can also enter a keyword to search for a task by it’s title!
We value your suggestions and comments highly – thank you for contributing to this feature.

This would be great to have when it's a bigger task that has several folks working on specific elements of it.863 votes
On 'my tasks' or on a board, if I switch the 'group by' option, remember my preference for next time for that particular board.820 votes
It would be helpful to have an option to show completed tasks on the calendar view to be able to look back and see all the items in process/scheduled/completed at a certain time. See what resource capacity is/was.695 votes
Good news all, you can now filter by Progress using the “Filter” menu across all views, including the Schedule view.
Currently this is only available in Planner Web, we will enable in Teams next.
Do not send email notifications by default. Be able to switch these on/off per card depending on field update570 votes
Thanks for everyone’s patience on this item. We’ve completed our first item in this space. We now set Task Activity Email Notifications (Assign and Complete) to Off By Default. Plan/Group owners can turn this setting on/off in the “Edit Plan” dialog.
We still have additional work planned in this area such as providing more granular controls to which activities will trigger notifications and more control over cases where you’ve been assigned tasks.
Thanks again for the feedback!
It'd be useful to be able to use rich text in a cards - formatting, bullet points, etc.530 votes
I am currently an Asana user. Do you have any plans to add a "List" view option in MS Planner? My team and I currently work in the "List" view of Asana. We tried the "Bucket / Board" view and did not like it. We would consider using MS Planner if you offered a "List" view to work from in your application.
Do you have any plans to add a "List" view option in MS Planner?
I created a task, which has two owners in actual. For example, there is a presentation being conducted by two members, I should be able to make two owners instead of one.420 votes
Thanks for the feedback. We’ve completed work to support assigning a task to multiple people.
For more information on assign tasks to people in Planner:
Add the ability to create at least 1 additional swimlane within a board.
Buckets are good, but being able to incorporate an additional "High Priority Swimlane" that spans across the various buckets will make it much easier to identify and track critical work items.401 votes
