The amount of emails generated will promote user fatigue and result in either mass delete or inbox rules. If I'm deleting a bunch of emails in a single action I'm not going to know if I actually need to read one. Most of the comments that come in are not uniquely related to me, my role, or my tasks. Team membership, or channel topic is contextual and helpful but direct email notification of every utterance is not.

It can be challenging to describe the logo design process directly: each graphic designer has its own approach to logo creation. For others, 60 minutes of idea creation, accompanied by 90 minutes of execution, all while listening to their favorite album to fuel inspiration, is methodical and disciplined. It's watching Will & Grace re-runs for others before they take inspiration from the commercial break.

It would be great to have this so I don't have to keep checking several tasks individually. Please make it happen.

YES. It is maddening to me that the person who created the task and the person who is assigned the task get no notification of comments unless they follow the plan in their group inbox or have previously commented. You should be able to notify people who aren't even assigned to the plan based on at-mentions.

Users expect this. I've even seen people write @ and a person's name hoping that it will work!

And in conjunction with this, stop automatically sending every comment to the Group mailbox. Notifications should only go to the people directly associated with a card: the people who created it, are assigned to it, or are @mentioned in it. Clearly Planner notifications were designed a long time ago when all that O365 has was Groups, but it is long past time to improve on this for Planner to complete with the big boys.

We also need this feature. The comment section is useless without this kind of feature.

The biggest drawback is the poor communication options. We have it up and running with nearly 100 major tasks under an agile framework. Didn't want another system when we have MS 365. But we simply can't communicate or discuss effectively. No @mention????? People miss comments on tasks because they don't get notified unless they comment and then they always get notified even though a comment wasn't meant for them. We have it but in reality our interest in using as dwindled, even as Project Lead I have stopped using it as I find it easier just to email.

Seems like a huge miss. I started my first card, did an @mention and nothing.....

Thats an absolut must especially as other notifications even for taskowner is not working. And anyhow you sometimes also need to adress a question in a comment who is not assigned to the task.

Dear Microsoft,
I also think that's a must have. A development in this direction would be a great increase in efficiency. Many thanks -

It is hard to get people to begin to use Teams regularly and to re-set major communication to being only through Teams and not e-mail. I have a whole team reading the Planner board but just waiting to be able to communicate back and forth. We need that communication to be tracked within each card in Planner. I need this function YESTERDAY to make this work. Now the doctor sends his comment to 3 people via email, one responds and puts notes on the board. Then, that person has to write the comment all over again and send it in an email when a tag @Name should do it. PLEASE PLEASE add this function. then the doctor has t write a note in Planner and write a note in email. Double the workload.

Notifications system in Planner is so weak, I can't believe.
This is a deal breaker for us. -

Any news Microsoft?

This would be an incredibly useful option for my team. We are trying to figure out if we can continue to use Planner without this feature. Not having it is forcing us to employ more steps in our communication flow than is optimal or efficient.

My team and I would like to be able to tag people who have not been assigned to the task already at hand. We are not receiving any type of notification currently. Whether through email or Planner itself. This would be highly used if it was a possible plugin.

Definitely and ASAP. I was really surprised that this is not a feature yet.
