This is idea is very useful also for my specific use case.
Planner is great also for long term planning, like annual objectives and simple project portofolio management of a small team.
We use planner to give to each of my team a clear picture of what has to be done during the year.
We have a plan called "2020 main projects" for each team.
Each "Planner task" is a main project/obective of the year and we have buckets like:
"ideas", "on evalutation", "maybe in the future", "planned",
Each task has a rich description and a lively discussion on the comment section.Tasks on the "planned" bucket have a given start date and a deadline.
However, I need a visual overview of the annual plan. This is helpful to explain to the team members and to the stakeholders what the team is doing, what it has been done and what it is about to be done.
By now we are using a simple power point slide like this one:

(I deleted the name of my projects for obvious reasons)If I could have an annual view on the schedule tab I wouldn't need to copy each task on a slide, and I woudn't have to keep the slide updated.....
This would be a huge improvement for us.
(and, how it is said here: https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525-microsoft-planner-feedback-forum/suggestions/38269090-have-schedule-view-to-show-not-only-week-and-month It would be useful also a 3-months; 4-months or a 6-months period)
