Copy Plan to Existing Group
The ability to copy a Plan was recently released (see link below) but this only provides the ability to copy a plan to a new O365 Group. It does not provide the ability to copy a plan to an existing O365 Group. Most people do not want to create a new O365 Group for every Plan they have (Group sprawl). Please offer an option when copying a Plan to either target an existing Group or a new Group based on your preference.

Hi everyone,
We have updated our Copy Plan experience – please try it out today!
This improvement includes the ability to choose an existing group or team to copy the plan into (or choose to create a new group). You’ll also be able to customize what gets copied over. Attachments can only be copied over into existing groups/teams.
You can get more details here – https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/planner-blog/expanding-the-copy-plan-and-filtering-features-based-on-your/ba-p/1483491

Great tool. Set up a plan with a bunch of tasks that I had been tracking in a word doc. I wasn't aware that our organization actually uses this tool until my supervisor asked me to add it to our Team. Alas, I cannot do that without copying tasks individually. Would be awesome to be able to import the plan, especially for new users who are learning the platform. This would eliminate time spent searching to see if it is possible.

In my company one department creates the O365 group by creating a team in MS teams. I then need to add a channel for my department, with my template plan. I can't do this unless I copy each individual task into a new plan created within that group and it's extremely inefficient. Please Fix.

Our user case:
We have a marketing-team in Teams. We produce podcasts as part of marketing. Each podcast is a plan but the steps are the same.
We would of course like the ability to copy the latest podcast-plan, to avoid entering the same steps over and over again. But of course still keeping it within the marketing-team (not create a new Group).

Really need this for me to move across to using planner. Most of our projects follow the same basic workflows. I need to be able to re-use the same template across multiple plans (in different channels) without having to re-do the whole setup process again.
For me, Planner is un-useable without this.

I can't believe this feature request, years after it was requested, is still not completed. Making a new Group for every copied Plan is not useful at all. We make Teams so that we can communicate with that team. Our team NEEDS templates for projects that repeat the same tasks over and over. So, this Copy feature MUST have the ability to copy into the same Team it was made with, or even better, assign what Team the copied Plan should be put into (including it's own if you want). But the way it is, this feature is useless.

It seems to be such a basic feature!
Imagine you spend a lot of time to create a Plan and organise it.
You should be allowed to re-use it in another group!eg Let's say you manage a web project in group A. Why don't you be able to copy your plan in group B? group C? etc

This should be such a simple thing, and the utility would be massive.

wow . . . we seriously need this feature. we're so close to an easy integrated task management system with teams. Imagine my surprise when I ran against this wall on the 2nd plan I tried to setup

It is really astonishing that elementary functions are not available and that there is no reaction to customer feedback!
Doesn't Microsoft have people in its development teams who are also using the tools in real life?
So please please put this into practice! -

Without the use of this feature, planner is not interesting to work with at all. For my work i want to make a standard planner template that can be used on any kind of project. Without the functionallity we can't migrate to teams with our projects, since we don't want to have additonal workload. Hopefully it can be fixed ASAP

Fixing this issue would really improve our efficiency and reduce the bloated feeling that would be created under the existing structure.
