Planner templates
The planner template is so basic for me (as business processes are normally repeatable), that makes the whole app completely useless at its current state. Any time I might save planning with this Canvan apporach, I will lose it as I have to create the same tasks over and over.

I have user requests for this as a feature. Is it feasible?

seriously - why would you create this app without ability to make templates??

Even worse is the fact you are not able to create a workaround by utilizing Flows as the planners are not a file. Ruling out the possibility of using Flows to get around the problem of copying a planner or template planner to another group.

As of right now you can create a new plan in the Planner Hub and right below the New Plan Name you can select 'Add to an Existing 365 Group'. Unfortunately, when you click the Menu button for a current plan and select Copy Plan that same option does not exist. This should be an easy add since the functionality is already there and available in the app. You just need to add it into another location. This would be extremely helpful for everyone to have that simple of a process for copying a plan. Not everyone wants to create a completely new group in SharePoint just to copy a plan over. I know with our company a majority of the time we want to copy these plans to an existing group.
Please get this functionality added ASAP! -

The process for making templates is too complex to be helpful. Can you simplify the process?

Yes please! I have been searching for ways to streamline and track training in my company. Planner would be perfect for this if I could create a template and then assign a new team member the task list for their training without having to recreate it every time.

Adding in template will be a of value to us Office 365 users, please make that happen soon or may I suggest to provide us an alternative or two?

We use Office 365 and are looking to use more of the apps within the ecosystem. The ability to save and duplicate templates is critical for our complex client projects. This is a must-have feature. Any updates on the roadmap?

Templates for both Plans and Tasks would make this a fantastic tool

Yes, we really need MS to think about adding the ability to create templates for repetitive plans. It seems like an obvious request.

Has there been any progress in getting this added to the roadmap yet?
We would love to use this Planner feature, but as stated by so many others it is currently useless to us as a company if we cannot create a template. -

I am currently just getting my first look at this application. Templates would be a huge time saver. I work in accounting and we are in the middle of some crazy busy projects. But it would be a huge help if we can create a template for EOM tasks so that management in a different office 10 hours away can track without the constant barage of "have you done this yet?" type emails and chats.

If we had the ability to create templates to copy over for a new project, this would be instrumental in our business processes! We have lists of over a hundred repeatable tasks, so having templates to bring those over for each new project implementation would save us so much time. Right now we would have to copy each of these tasks over or create new tasks each time. This is just not feasible for us due to the number of tasks that need to be created. Please move forward with this enhancement! Our company would move to using this planner every day!

I think this would be a fabulous upgrade! Our company would utilize this daily. We implement software and it is vital that we remember each task (100+) that needs to be completed for each implementation that we do. At this point, our options would be to re-create this planner tasklist every single time we need a new one for a new company, which is daily. Or we would have to copy each task over to a new planner (again 100+ tasks and we do a new one almost daily). This would greatly improve our processing time for creating our tasklists for these implementations.

I think your issue is the same as this one:

I completely agree with the above. Planner is basically useless if we have to go in and re-create plan's every time a new project is kicked off. Most of our projects, (and I imagine this is the case at many companies) have repeatable steps with gates, or milestones, etc...that have specific tasks that must be completed before you reach these milestones.
Planner could be exponentially improved if:
1) Plan templates could be created and saved for future project starts. These would have different buckets and tasks pre-assigned and pre-scheduled and the project manager would only have to make minor tweaks.2) Ability to upload excel - You could create all of the above in an excel spread sheet and just have the ability to upload to Planner which would take the data and create the tasks and buckets. (similar to Office Timeline).
Please fix soon. As the application stands currently, it's not much of a time saver.
