Attach a URL link to local server, folder, or file.
Be able to drag file, folder or Server onto card and have Planner add the URL. This URL could then be clicked on by any team member and either Explorer/file manage shows the file/folder or IE, or browser of choice.
If dragging not possible, then be able to Browse for the item to be added, without adding as an attachment, but a link.
At the moment, cant' add links to local files on the PC, or Folders, or any server locations.
Ideal for task management where the files need to remain local (within the business) for security reasons.
Many orgs have storage structures, that are local, not on "one-drive" or cloud location. We need to be able to record locations of relevant data to a task, be be seamlessly taken to that area. This is currently not possible in Planner, and unfortunately stopping us form using the product.
This is a must for teams to work effectively and efficiently.
Looks like an old request though, so hopefully something is being done?
We de defintley need this. SharePoint data is not allways possible. Our Company works also still with local Server files.

Drag and drop file support is definitely needed!

Add my vote! Links to local shared drive would make my project management so much easier as I cannot use One Drive for these items.

Yes we need ugently that connection otherwise we have to work with other programms
Yes, I support that feature, too. We just started using O365 and Planner and already miss that possibility.

yea being able to link to network locations would be very much appreciated and seemingly simple feature to add.
This would be extremely helpful as the data we would want to link to is sensitive and not suitable for cloud storage, also it would violate company policy.

+1 from me. We store our files on various services, like network drives or Project Wise. It's impossible to add links to those in Planner at the moment. Hope this will change very soon. It would be enough if description field for task would accept HTML or Markdown languages.
