Restrict who can delete tasks/buckets
Dear Microsoft folks,
I would like to recommend
(1) restricting who has the ability to delete tasks (or perhaps allowing/approving individuals to delete tasks)
(2) add an additional prompt to confirm if the user would like for a task to be deleted
(3) give the option to recover a deleted item after X number of days
(4) provide a notification to the "creator" of the deleted task that it has indeed been deleted
(5) add the ability to print these records (or export to Excel to where it could be modified and then printed out)
We would like to use this tool as a to do list for work order repairs with our maintenance department. However, our records (including repairs) are audited every year, closely inspected are scrutinized.
In the event that we have a disgruntled employee/user, they could currently delete any/all records which will raise questions with outside agencies if we have done what has been deleted. These agencies are heavy on documentation, so a lack thereof will result in fines.
Also, if one of our users accidentally deletes a record, we are in the same situation as above.
If this feature were available (and the ability to print a summary of all records), I would feel much more comfortable embracing this & committing to more Office 365 licenses (wink wink nudge nudge)
Thank you for your consideration!

This is must important for higgest projects. I offer have totaly support for those ideias.
Here is a similar idea with nearly 1000 votes. Please vote this one up to ********* the radar. https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525-microsoft-planner-feedback-forum/suggestions/15079902-permissions-levels-that-block-users-to-delete-or-c
We're rolling out planner and getting so much pushback because of this - it's obviously something needed.
We are stopping using planner because everyone che delete tasks...
Planner is powerful especially when we have an automated Flow from outlook to planner, but unfortunatly maintaing the task records is to difficult as is i.e. Delete option is available to anyone
This samll things can make the whole product broken.
please revisit and enhance, as we really like the integration between all microsoft products(outlook, Flow, Planner, Teams)
I can't use the Planner to control some mandatory tasks because "anyone" can just delete them and they disappear for ever.
Some controls over users ability to create, edit, and delete tasks is truly essential. As it stands, does the admin at least get and alert (email) that a task was deleted?
I can't convince my boss to use Planner because she can't restrict who updates tasks and marks them as complete.
I ask to add the function of prohibiting the removal of tasks in the program Planner
Hello MS Office O365 team, any update here.
This is a roadblock for our team in using the planner and would venture to other tool similar to this one.
we stopped using planner because of this feature
in our company also we are waiting for this feature so we can use planner
Please give us an update as client wants to know when ready. The "MS Teams" guys are now giving us regular updates. Please guys, give us an idea - this is over a year old and the only reason more people haven't voted is they are just plain not using Planner for this very reason.
This is essential. We have flow generating tasks and waiting for completion of tasks.
This is a must. Planner is not usable without this.

Any development regarding this "issue"?? thanks.
This really is a MUST HAVE ..... come on Microsoft this and various related threads on uservoice seem to be being ignored.
Is this in the development plan ????????
The ability to delete a task (and have no record of that) by everyone in the group is crazy. Where is the accountability? The owner off the plan should be able to decide who can and cannot delete tasks.
