Permissions Capability
Would like for Owner's in a Team, Group or Plan to be able to change user's/member's permissions within Planner so they can:
1) Contribute
2) Edit
3) Read-Only
4) No Access

This feature is a must...I have a Planner of 145 members, and without adequate access rights management it's a nightmare!!

Need to restrict planner permission for members so that they will not able delete the task assigned by owner

This needs typical CRUD permissions.
Ideally:
Team Creator would have Create access;
all team members would have Read access for all tasks;
Task creator and any task assignees would have Update access
Task Creator only would have delete access.until these are in place I will hope users dont make any mistakes.

I vote for these permission options. They are important for business users. Thank you!

Our need is simply to provide one department/group with read/write access to Planner so they can manage and prioritize items, and then provide one or more other departments/groups with read only access so they have visibility, but they don't muck everything up.

This is a critical feature that is going to stop many companies from using this software. Along with this, it should be added that deleted tasks have a record of who deleted it, and make it recoverable.

agree, but when this has been running for over a year now !? to use planner effectively, it would be useful to Create a planner within an existing team, but to have the option for the owner to add a user that is external to the team, would make it a good product. i know Microsoft will say that for this you should create another team, but lets be honest if we create a new team for everything the team system would become chaos with too many team !? It would be very useful to add a user for the planner only part of teams with view only options.

Definitely agree - we absolutely need user rights in a hierarchy (admin, editor, user, viewer)

Why is this something a business has to ask for? Individuals, purposfully or by accident can delete any task you carefully create.
