Would like for Owner's in a Team, Group or Plan to be able to change user's/member's permissions within Planner so they can:
4) No Access
Yes, also a vote from my side. This is an important feature
Yes please - a really important feature. Please can this be developed asap. Many thanks
Please add. This is an essential function of this type of tool.
Please add this function. It seems core to the collaborative nature of this tool.
this is really important
Uuuh 4 years and this does not have user rights management? Come on MS... get your s**t together.

Without user permissions, planner is just another grocery to do list. Useless for corporate use.
Anyone know if the MS is at least considering implementing this? Its been 4 years, still not implemented
Being able to set permissions would mean that we could make better use of Planner across the organization.
This is an important feature. Please implement it asap.
The principal use case for this is that not all teams are autonomous or self-organising. Some teams are lead by a project lead that needs to make sure that people can only add comments and complete tasks, and not reschedule, delete or reassign tasks. So I think we need more than these 4 roles or maybe different roles than the ones proposed by OP. I think we actually need something like:
1. Read-only guest (for managers and other higher-ups to track progress, check state, leave comments, etc.)
2. General Manager (for managers that assign, schedule, delete and otherwise control tasks given to everyone else)
3. Team Manager (for team managers that can't delete tasks but can create them, reassign them and reschedule them, so basically everything except delete tasks created by a general manager)
4. Team member (for team members that can only set a start date on a task, set state to in-progress (but not back to not started!) and complete a task (but not edit completion date once set).
Group owners are automatically general managers and they are the ones that assign the roles above to users. (for people that don't know, each plan must be owned by a group).
This would be really nice to have; especially for teams where things are assigned and you don't want them edited like due dates etc.
Need this, definitely
WHY do Microsoft assume that ALL users know how to use ALL applications and NEVER make a mistake like accidently deleting something, or amending something ??? Read Only permission sorts this problem out, sometimes a whole raft of users only need to LOOK at something without the ability to change anything (accidently or otherwise).
Being part of a team does not mean you have the same abilities as everyone in the team, and not everyone in a team has the same responsibilities - why is this concept so alien to Microsoft ???
We need this desperately. The broader organization (hundreds of people) need to be able to see when tasks are occurring so they can plan their work accordingly, but only the core team (about a dozen) should be allowed to edit tasks. And no one but the Team owners should be able to create or delete tasks.
Because of this, my organization is reluctant to use Planner, despite its great potential for more organized collaboration and alignment on deliverables.

We would like to use Planner so that the same task can be allocated to different individuals. In other words individual assignees must complete the same task. Example: Lecturers must have their exam papers ready by a certain due date. They must not be able to change the due date - only the Owner of the task/team.
So assignees must not be able to change the due date. This is a really important feature that is not available!

agree with other voters - I'd like to be able to share a view only link for meetings without having to add numerous people as guests to my account.
Any news? This has been a request for over 3 years
