Permissions Capability
Would like for Owner's in a Team, Group or Plan to be able to change user's/member's permissions within Planner so they can:
1) Contribute
2) Edit
3) Read-Only
4) No Access

This needs to be implemented ASAP!

Furthermore, it would be crucial to steer this on field level, so you can differentiate, whether a user can change i.e. only the status of a task but not the participants.

Without user permissions, planner is just another grocery to do list. Useless for corporate use.

PLEASE add this feature so that Planner is useful. Otherwise my team needs to use other methods.

This is needed!
I think it would be nice to have a little flexibility, like:
- Everyone in the group (team) can at least view
- Some buckets can be read only if they don't have permissions to edit
- Some buckets be allowed to add things, but not check them off / delete them
- Some buckets they have full controlThey = other team members
If I want a 3 members on my team to individually brainstorm on a card and assign that card to 5 people, I don't want them to accidentally mark it as completed and it not show up for the other members

Absolutely needs this feature. Otherwise, as mentioned in other posts, anybody can delete something especially if they don't know what they are doing.

Why do MS assume that everyone needs full access to everything, deleting things can be done accidentally and on purpose. Read only solves this problems and allows oversight without messing things up. If Planer backend is Sharepoint then surely this is possible.

Team members are accidentally marking tasks as complete when viewing or updating Tasks (Myself included)
Read-Only access will greatly reduce these issues as well as reduce the unnecessary emails and notifications sent -

The lack of permissions has already caused us much grief. This is an essential feature.

Planner permissions follow the path as seen for permissions of SharePoint Online sites which allow Site Owners to knowingly or unknowingly delegate "Sharing" to Members of the site, (a default), including Edit capability (another default) to anyone with an email address in the tenant. Sharing creates Unique permissions on the SharePoint object. Usually the Members group of a SharePoint Online site contains a large number of Folks, who are now potentially armed with the capability of Editing the "Shared" object. Fine for OneDrive not fine for SharePoint Online.

Planner is great in concept. However, allowing anyone that is a member to delete any task assigned to themselves or to anyone else on the team is a large negative to keeping the plan relevant.

To be able to have people consult the plan without being able to alter it is ESSENTIAL!.
I want the Team to see progress is being made, but I don't want people changing dates and unchecking boxes, even if I know who did it, the damage has been done.
