Get Task History
It would be nice to have an API that gives us all of a task's history including entry and exit dates per bucket ID using this kind of Graph API endpoint: GET /planner/tasks/<id>/history

This is really needed to use Planner for serious business cases.

Wow! Now that I am into Planner I am surprised that there is no version history readily available (maybe we should go back to SharePoint until this is implemented?) We planned on placing hundreds of operational tasks - and now I see that we will have absolutely no audit history for my client that deals with millions of dollars in warehouse orders in the manufacturing of their products. This does not feel like a serious enterprise or supply chain supportable product. My client is a public company and from other things I have seen, I do not believe this will stand up to formal auditing requirements. Bummer. We were really hoping to adopt planner.

Também precisamos desse recurso, afinal como vamos saber o que aconteceu com o card.

same opinion like sascha - please make some updates to important functionalities like trello ... it is one very missing option, to see inside every task, when who did which changes - or when the task was moved from one bucket to another.
Thanks for realizing! -

We use it for project planning and today someone removed critical data from a quote and I wanted to know who, and specifically talk to them to find out why? But without any type of tracking, none of this is possible at all. Tracking, yes, it's critical to have people be accountable when they make changes. Yes its a people problem but this software can provide data to fix that people problem.

Accountability needs to be better. People can just change due dates and it doesn’t track that these were changed. It also doesn’t track how often these were changed. What was the original due date? When was it finally completed? This is useful for understanding what is going on with the project and how long the tasks are actually taking. If people can just change the dates, we can’t track this.

You have copied Trello and named it Planner. But hey, you forgot some of the most needed features to copy into your Trello clone; the history of cards (sorry 'tasks'). It's kind of useless to set e.g. due dates, if everyone can change them without tracking him doing this!

Any update in this request ?

Is there any update on this request? Team foundation Services or Azure Devops does that already

need this as well because of accountability of users and their changes after tasks have been completed.

We are having an issue where tasks have disappeared so this feature would help us determine if that's human error

Agree this is required , another shortcoming is MS-planner functionality.
The ability to produce MI on ticket progression through a process could be automated if MS-planner maintained time/date stamp history for 'bucket' changes (and also ability to download CSV data for analysis via excel/power BI etc.)

Same need for a detailed history. We use this for keeping track of the tasks within our support organization, Each bucket is a status... for example, send to customer, internal investigation etc... however, the lack of history is killing us. As we cannot say when somehting changes bucket.

Yes history of bucket is needed. Trello has that feature. I am disappointed to not have it in Planner. I made a plan for my Team. I set end date. Anyone can change the end date, no history of that change anywhere. So, the whole purpose of using the tool dilutes.

Hi. Same thought here.
I believe I'll talk to my boss and convince him to use TRELLO, because I'm starting to get tired of these PLANNER issues...
One of the reasons we are using PLANNER has to do with graphs and timing the tasks duration, but I don't think anybody reads this forum...
The graphics are very basic, and having information on the cards could help to do some statistics analysis...
Planner guys, think about this - Your software is not free, and I don't feel confident to recommend my clients to pay for software they cannot customize and use as they need.

Please allow history , what kind of software have you developed ? which school did the architecture guy go to ? I will make sure my kids will never go there.
Please add history to the story cards. -

yes is there a way to see history in charts please. specifically, how long a task was open and how late things were.
