Create a Plan without creating an Office Group
I like using the Planner as a personal tool to simply manage my day-to-day tasks - I like the kanban Trello-esque visual way of doing this. I don't, however, need the sharing capabilities and therefore all the associated 365 group stuff created in the background is superflous. It would be good to simply have an "individual" Plan and not have it create a 365 group. It just feels like there will be whole lot of chaos will ensue with people creating all sorts of groups like "My Plan", "Test Plan" etc.

Dear Planner users, Planner is looking to learn your experience with managing “personal tasks”. The feedback you provide would help the product to optimize the features toward your needs, and would benefit other users who use the product like you.
We’d very much appreciate if you could take 7-10 mins to fill out this survey. Thank you!

Echo other comments... How about giving the option to create a group instead of forcing it. We cannot use this product in its current state due to the creation of so many O365 groups that show up. It clutters the Outlook GAL for everyone.
How could this have been missed? I can easily see a user making a task list just for themselves....

Yeah. Who would have thought a Plan was the same as a Group. Did the work experience boy design that one?

We could follow the following article but it also stops groups being created in other products.
Different users will need different roles - Alternatively if these can't be split by application could a Planner Admin portal be created allowing granular setup for different users.? or as suggested by others Office groups are not created by default. -

Would also like to see the ability to create Plans without using Groups. We have Groups disabled, and this means we cannot use Plans currently.

Just make the Office 365 group when you select a plan that is shared !!! Otherwise than that leave it alone with the creation of an Office 365 group !!!!

Totally agree ! I don't understand why an office 365 group is created for each personal planner !!! This tends to put a lot of useless information in our Azure AD to be managed later

Planner is used at our work but we use trello as it is stand alone.... we'd use planner if it could be made into a better version. Come on Microsoft!

Individual plans have become extremely important to us.

I think this is extremely important as an administrator. I have a ton of Groups that are only there because some created a new Plan directly from Planner.

Agreed.
See also this handful of identical requests here (including this one), in case an admin wants to merge them. Together, they currently total about 55 votes. (Apologies for this duplicate message in these threads, but I'm trying to tie related items together)
