Create a Plan without creating an Office Group
I like using the Planner as a personal tool to simply manage my day-to-day tasks - I like the kanban Trello-esque visual way of doing this. I don't, however, need the sharing capabilities and therefore all the associated 365 group stuff created in the background is superflous. It would be good to simply have an "individual" Plan and not have it create a 365 group. It just feels like there will be whole lot of chaos will ensue with people creating all sorts of groups like "My Plan", "Test Plan" etc.
Dear Planner users, Planner is looking to learn your experience with managing “personal tasks”. The feedback you provide would help the product to optimize the features toward your needs, and would benefit other users who use the product like you.
We’d very much appreciate if you could take 7-10 mins to fill out this survey. Thank you!
We're losing staff to Trello, which now adds a separate tool that needs to be supported by IT...
COME ON MICROSOFT!!!

Agree in a large organisation (or any organisation) this is a nightmare to manage without group scope

Update the Planner application to allow for the creation of a new plan without requiring an O365 group. That would be awesome!
Why isn’t planner / Sharepoint Site / Teams and all other Programms not connected to an individual „Azure ID“?
The Strategie to use SharePoint Sites in Exchange with O365 Permission and add all programm around O365 groups mess up each day more.
Having the possibility to switch on / off individual programs to before created „Azure ID“ would it make for companies / user much easier to use Planner, SharePoint (Documentlibraries), Teams, Exchange (Calender)
Please change the seetings. Managing O365 groups becames impossibly.
Yes this is irritating.

This has to be a priority for Microsoft. Lots of organisations need to govern who can create Office 365 Groups, however also want to encourage users to make the most of Planner.

that's really bad that creating plan in Planner or SharePoint requires creating a group.
Because of this, we will unfortunately move to Trello...

The fact that Planner is creating a group for every plan is making it virtually unusable for me. I'm a writer and have dozens and dozens of blog, web, marketing projects. Each needs a plan, but because of group sprawl, I can't do that. So now I have to create checklists for each blog post, marketing project... Now I can't assign individual tasks, because those are now checklist items. I can't use labels, because they can't apply to individual checklist items. All of my blog posts have to go under a plan called "Blog Posts". It is almost not worth tracking at all. Pleeeeeeeeeease fix this problem. You should not have to create a new group every time a plan is created.

I agree - however, I do want to use this as a collaborative platform but without creating an office group. I need to be able to invite users to a client file and assign tasks without creating a group as creating a group gives my administrators access to the group list with breaches client confidentiality.
Same situation as Power BI previously, please let us or our users create Plans and manage access to them without having to create a Group and all the additional mess that comes with it.
This would be useful to have. I have used Planner as my personal tracker (also use it for company wide projects). I am going back to trello for personal tracker because I too don't need all of the other cruft assicated with Planner.
My suggestion of two option for a new Plan:
1: Full Planner funtionailty
2: Simple mode - just Kanban cards - with simple notifications of due dates if they are set
urgent. o365 groups administration is becoming a total mess.

A prioritization of this would start making the "copy plan" feature useful at least.
We want our users to be able to self-manage their O365 tools but we can't let all users create groups without any restrictions.

Agreed we need this.

Yes we need great tools and features to not be sprawl-creators.
Agreed. Not useful without this ability.
Please add this possibility ASAP.
