Hello!
Thanks for all the feedback! We’ve just launched push notifications in our latest app update. Users should now see a push notification when a task is assigned to them. We’re looking to add more notification types in future updates, so let us know in the comments if there are specific types of notifications you’d like to see!

Have notification for new due task and icon notification to show the number of overdue tasks.

Yes a notification system integrated between SharePoint and Planner. So far I can only see it contained within the Teams environment

It would be great if the notifications also created an email.

Because, i have 4780 tasks in my list, it would be nice to have the chance to subscribe to a task even if the task is not assigned to me.
It's all because of the limitation:
250 Tasks per user
1500 Tasks being creatorNotification types in my wishlist:
due date notification - overdue alert
due date has changed
description changed
checklist changed
planuser added
due date independent remindercomment which has my name in- like in yammer ->@michael: bla bla
