Keep original (planned) due date when due date was change
When changing due dates, there should be a prompt if user want to track changes. If user said yes, The original due date should be tracked.
Keeping the original due dates will keep track of how many days a task was ovedue before it gets completed.
It should show the original due date and the actual date it was completed and show number of days it was overdue (negative numbers means it was completed before due dates
In overall, it will show the difference of planned project timeline against actual project timeline
Some due date changes are legitimate error and this is why the system should prompt if the change being made needs tracking or the due date was entered incorrectly and the change should not be tracked.
For a project manager who is assigning tasks it's a must to keep track to earlier agreed dates, so when a new due date is agreed upon the original planned date should be shown so a clear picture is available of the progress
Taxi to Charleroi Airport (CRL), taxi transfers Brussels - Charleroi. AtoB airport taxi will meet you at Charleroi airport and drive you comfortably.
Whoa this request is so old )) has anyone from Microsoft read this at all? ))
the plan creator needs to be the only person able to change due dates, and those date changes should be automatically tracked.
I am the project owner and I am facing difficulty maintaining the due dates using the planner. Others are changing the due dates and I am unable to track the project timelines. Also, the report does not show the changes made to the dates. This needs fix asap.
I agree. I think the plan creator needs to be the only person able to change due dates, and those date changes should be automatically tracked. Allowing anyone to change due dates does not help keep team members accountable.
Please track changes to due dates!!
This is a mandatory function for every Project Manager during the project controlling procedure!
Please integrate it asap. otherwise I sadly need to switch to another application...
I can't believe it doesn't have that feature.
I almost launched Planner for my enterprise until I found that Microsoft offers no controls to limit due date changes to admins nor does it track due date changes for an audit trail purpose. Without these features, the half dozen applications I had planned for it this year are now useless.
Please listen to the feedback being given - these should be relatively small changes that open usability up far wider than it is today.
Restore bucket or task when deleted. Possibility to block tasks from delete and date changes.
I would prefer if Planner (or person with admin rights) should only be the person who can change the due dates rather anyone in the team. If everyone keeps on changing the dates without any tracking then the very purpose of planning is dissolved.

Is a report available if due date is changed by user? Or allow static due date only by owner / admin of the group

I agree that there should be some tracking ability to know when due dates are modified. Hard to measure time to complete if users can simply move the Due Date.
Alternatively, it would be useful to trigger a notification if the Due Date changes. I was trying to do this through Flow but it doesn't appear to be available.
It is extremely important to track the due date history
Am really surprised that anyone can still change the due date!
I agree. This would be useful.
