Allow Complete Task per assigned person
Whilst the new feature of assigning tasks to more than one person is excellent there still needs to be a way for each person assigned the task to assign the status as it relates to them. Otherwise, a task with multiple parts or people assigned to it cannot indicate their part in the completion.

I use Planner and To Do and rely on To-Do as my task manager. When Im assigned a task that a number of people in my team also need to complete (identified with checkboxes), Im unable to mark my task complete in To Do as it will complete the whole task in Planner - so it sits in my To Do list until all others have completed. Is there a fix for this yet?

I run parallel work streams in international projects. It would be very helpful.
The minimum should be to copy a tasks with CTRL+Mouse pull down as in PowerPoint

If this could be done it would my life so much easier instead of having to keep assigning documents individually to be completed to dozens of people instead of just a checklist to see who has done it. I believe you already have the ability to do this on the education version of teams as tasks can be set as assignments for students and each just simply clicks the complete tab when it is done. This allows the tutor to track students progress and see who has done what. This would be an extremely useful tool in the workplace.

Please, please, please add this feature! It's frustrating to have to copy the same task multiple times and assign it only to one person! Love having the ability to assign one task to multiple people but NEED the ability to have each of them able to "complete" it on their own.

Microsoft, we're pushing on to 3 years since this idea was raised.
Any updates on addition to the roadmap?
For a retail company looking to push a single task to all store managers, being able to see which ones completed it (without workarounds) would be very useful.

I saw, that in TEAMS for teachers, there is the possibility to see, how many persons completed a task (e.g. 7/16), that is a great overview and definitely needed please!
also, currently I am only able to assign a task to 11 persons, but I have 18 colleagues with the same task - can it be expanded to more please? -

Microsoft, what's the status of this? It has the votes for consideration!

+1 This is fundamental!

This will allow lesser work for managers but yet be able to track each employee's progress.

If nothing else, it would be great if each person assigned a task can clear it from their own "Assigned to me" list, without clearing from the shared planner. Also, this seems critical in tasks with multiple people who each have their own part. It feels like its to easy for the task to just "disappear" as is.

The ability to enforce a checklist or Complete Task per assigned person before the whole task can be completed. (perhaps only permitting the owner of the task to complete

Although a checklist is useful, adding this feature of individuals ticking off their task would help with reminders and deadlines, otherwise people will still get reminders when marking their checklist entry as done.

This would be so helpful in Class teams, for students. I can create a list of assignments and work that should be done (not all of it would necessarily be assigned in Teams) and each student could check off the work as it is done. The task can already be assigned to multiple people, it should be able to be marked complete by multiple people as well. Could be a group project with many parts, or a task that many people each need to submit.
Seems an easy and obvious upgrade? -

This would be a way to compete with Googles Classroom tasking. Maybe just implement that kind of grouping, then set the list to create the task for each user as a subtask of the original. That would allow you to see who finished and who didn't, and how much of the class is on task\target. You could set up a nested grouping that works on the subtask of a subtask paradigm, splitting up work among teams.

this would be very useful and actually fundamental imo, assign one task for each and every individual to do

I am in strong support of upgrading Planner so that each assigned individual can mark that they have completed the task before the overall task gets marked completed

MS could definitely do better with planner.
But meanwhile I use power automate to create a new bucket and create new tasks with same content assigned to each member.
Then I just check the bucket status for completion status.
This is very useful when I need to assign a single task to all my team members because I use list member to define who I assign the task to.
