Integrate MS Projects (Desktop) with Planner
Integrate MS Projects (Desktop) with Planner:

2.) When a task owner updates the task in Planner, it updates MS Project schedule as well

Microsoft Planner is a newer project management solution that was released in 2016 as part of Office 365. Both programs let you create plans, organize and assign tasks, share files, communicate with colleagues, and get updates on your team's progress.
To link the Project and Planner together:
Highlight the task you wish to link.
Click on the Planner button.
Select the Plan to link to.
Click on the Planner button in the indicators column to jump directly to the Planner plan.Read more about this visit: https://www.realmailfix.com

Yes. including task status - "to do" and "completed" and maybe get 50% credit for "in work". Maybe you'll have to make those three standard buckets to get it to work. I got a system like this all set up in SharePoint with Virto Software's Kanban Board Web Part, but our team does not like working in Sharepoint. We've migrated to Teams and like it. Now I just need Project and Planner to talk to one another more fully

We could really use a live data link between a Plan and an MS Project plan. Maybe even get a little granular and be able to tag Plan tasks such that only certain tasks show up in the corresponding MS Project, or vice versa. Whether edits and updates flow in one direction or both should also be configurable (control the 'source of truth').
