Task Assignment Notifications
Notifications are going out to every member of the team regarding every task. It should only go out the person assigned to the task.

Agreed! And on the flip side, when a person finishes a task, I want to be the only one notified. I got really excited about this product because it would be so helpful to my work, but this is a dealbreaker.

When will individual assignment notifications be enabled for GCC? Please make this change. All group members don't need notifications for tasks they are not assigned to.

Need to ensure that comments on card are only sent to those assigned, instead of entire group. This generates too much noise.

Can an admin control this feature?

Agreed. Configuring and controlling individual notifications upon new assignments is CRITICAL.
Ideally, it should support multiple methods, with some choice at the recipient level how to ingest these. User notification setting should allow setting at the plan level (not globally for the user). Example use case: I want to get immediate push notifications via the desktop app for a "hot" project, and a morning summary email for one that is not on fire.

I cant believe that this is feature is so LOW voted.
When you Assign a task to someone, this person MUST get an email telling her that there is a task to be done! Not a note, that is in a small part of outlook where no one ever looks!I`m trying to roll out MS PLanner and MS Teams in my company, but the lack of this feature is just hard to believe! It makes the entire thing completely useless!
Come on Microsoft Planner Team!!! Do something about it!
We DONT get notification when there is a message in the groups tab with outlook. If I create a TASK to some of my team workers, I need them to be notified ( Email + Pop ups + Push, whatever).

I can't seem to get the notification e-mail working at all, which makes it pretty useless.

Absolutely essential. Though there appears to be documentation out there for how to enable this feature by editing the plan, it does not work for us. The only 2 options seem to be to receive an email for every single change (subscribing to the group aka "Turning on the email fire hose") or receiving no notifications outside of conversations you are @mentioned on. Being assigned to a task should be an automatic @mention and should follow through on any comments made on that task.
