Remove 250 task limit per person per plan.
Currently, there is a 250 task limit per person per plan. The error states “You've run out of space! Delete some old tasks and projects to continue creating new ones.” Removing completed tasks defeats the purpose of using Planner as a historical task tracker if resources are limited to 250 tasks.

This limit has been removed – users can now have thousands of tasks assigned to them.
We’re continuing work around performance and actively monitoring how many users hit this limit. So far, we only have seen users with unchecked Flows/automated task assignments hitting this limit.
We are planning on publishing formal documentation around all of our Planner limits once we’ve completed more performance work, but don’t have anything to share at this time.
Cheers,
The Planner Team

These limits induce an entire world of pain.
1) Manually migrate from Trelo.
2) Hit limits.
3) Headbut desk due to the stupidity of the situation.Azure is all powerful, yet it's not capable of summoning the horsepower to allow more than 250 assigned tasks per user in Microsoft Planner....
Come on guys, please fix this ASAP! I can only assume this was some arbitrary limit placed during early development that has been forgotten about.

It's not just the 250 per person per plan limit; it is the 1500 "items" per person that is the real insult. In an enterprise or even small organization if
MS intends for Planner to be used for any real production task management and maintain this bogus and worthless limit they are smoking *****. Change the code and REMOVE ALL LIMITS NOW. YOU ARE FORCING US TO CHOOSE YOUR COMPETITION. -

This is an absolutely ludricrous limit. Enterprises need no limits if any kind such as these. I am the Planner champion for my organization and am in charge of adoption, configuration and utilization of this and other integrated Office 365 apps. Having this useless limit that cannot be changed is the very definition of ridiculousness. I am hopeful that MS will see the insanity of this and remove this idiotic limit.

Are you kidding me!!!! Microsoft is absolutely killing me with tedious little things like this. This is right up there with the "Microsoft Stream (video) can not be shared externally" issue.

I am really disappointed about such issue. And that it is still not resolved. It looks like Planner Team made stupid thing at the beginning and "trying" to resolve it during... more than 9 months. 9m for delete the digit "250" in the program code. Guys, are you serious?!

We are an international publisher with more than 10000 users and our users are running into the limit of 250 tasks per plan. Please consider upgrading the limit!

Our organization recently ran up against this limit as well. We do not like that we have to delete historical tasks simply because of this limit. The tasks are closed but we want the history for reporting.

First an inability to create templates or copy plans and now these limits = Planner is useless at this point.

I appreciate the possibilities of Manolis Emmanouilidis’ workaround (March 2, 2017 3:31 AM) and support Gerard Lebeda’s suggestion (January 27, 2017 11:00) to “create a "Completed" feature for the plan/project as a whole, and have that mechanism remove the task assignments (not the tasks themselves) for the entire plan/project.”
An additional question I have is, do I need to worry about the fact that our organization has almost 10,000 employees? It would seem that would add unworkable constrictions for us, if they all start using MS Planner?

This limitation is unbelievable! 250 tasks and 1,500 created items in total???? It is not rational to expect a business to work within these parameters. There is absolutely NO documentation on this limitation in Office365. Or users have spent hundreds of hours developing new projects and are now dead in the water. Deleting tasks is not an option as it removes essential data from the Project! This needs to be fixed immediately and not voted on.
