Remove 250 task limit per person per plan.
Currently, there is a 250 task limit per person per plan. The error states “You've run out of space! Delete some old tasks and projects to continue creating new ones.” Removing completed tasks defeats the purpose of using Planner as a historical task tracker if resources are limited to 250 tasks.

This limit has been removed – users can now have thousands of tasks assigned to them.
We’re continuing work around performance and actively monitoring how many users hit this limit. So far, we only have seen users with unchecked Flows/automated task assignments hitting this limit.
We are planning on publishing formal documentation around all of our Planner limits once we’ve completed more performance work, but don’t have anything to share at this time.
Cheers,
The Planner Team

Is this limitation still intact? Why is it not removed? I'm now convincing everyone to use this tool - but it should not have limitations like that

Oh my goodness....!!!! Please give us unlimited Tasks and unlimited Checklist items in each task. A limit of 20, SERIOUSLY??????

There should be unlimited tasks. I intend to use planner as a historical record, so I don't want to delete old tasks. I want to be able to research and check back on tasks for years to come.

How are we going with an increase to Planner, we're running out of space and it is a real hassle to continue to delete completed tasks.
It is a very slow process to delete any completed tasks.
We are seriously considering Trello -

Any update on this, Microsoft? We're just starting to get into Planner but if we cannot keep an archive (maybe less attachments?) this will be a huge snag and probably force us to choose an alternate product.

The 1500 limit is a killer. Please up this or remove it otherwise still using Trello.

This is great product. These constraints limit use of planner for big projects. If there is no technical limitation, please allow admins to adjust the parameters to fit to their needs

Not true! I'm shocked. Please remove all limits.

Yes, remove all of these limitations because planner would be useless in most corporate scenarios.

You could also make it easier to delete completed tasks...or set a timeframe when completed tasks are "archived".

For anyone who stumbles on this like I did, thinking it was still a problem, this has been delivered:

Those limits are horrible. I imagine some companies could reach that limit with just a few projects. We are just starting to use this more and it won't take too long before I have to tell them to delete old plans.

Yup, these limits are completely crippling. It's somehow embarrassing to explain to colleagues that they need to manually unassign old, completed tasks one by one in order to 'free up space'...

This will be another nail in the coffin for another product and someone at Microsoft will just wonder why...

Why is nothing happening on this subject?
Please dissolve the following limitations immediately or increase the number of objects significantly!- 250 assigned tasks per user irrespective of plans
- 1500 tasks can be created by an user irrespective of plans
- 250 Active tasks (Not Started, In Progress) per plan -

Any news with this problem? It renders planner useless for us. Remove all limitations and let us use it.
