App Performance is slow
Why is planer slow or sluggish?
I have used other web apps that run really fast and smooth. Everything I do in Planner takes 2 to 4 seconds to refresh.
I have a 50MB internet connection so it's not on my end and I can also run other web apps such as Trello super fast.
Will there be any performance improvements?

@DavidLMorris Is this service as good as you described it?
Dude, there is nothing strange, this is the ram issue, because every browser uses ram as a memory storage to keep your tabs open. In other words, it can slow your PC or Laptop, but it depends. If all those tabs are working, I mean all those tabs have an opened video that is playing, then yes, your Internet will be slowed down. In this case, if you need all those tabs to keep working and you need a great Internet connection I would advise you to look up for a better Internet provider that will give you a better speed. But you need to look for it carefully as there are lots of options that could be included in your internet coverage plan and will never use them, but you will have to pay for those options. So if you will look for an Internet provider you will need this https://usave.co.uk/broadband/contention-ratio/ to find the best one in your area and you will be able to see the price's so this will make your life little bit easier

Our staff has been having the same issue for over 8 months. It is ridiculous. Every time we click all plans it takes several minutes for everything to load and some times still nothing. We have to go into 365 outlook and go to the groups on the left side and find our project to open it up in planner.

We use planner for Sales Pipeline tracking. It's slow to work with normally, but when we are screen-sharing that plan in a Teams call, it's nearly non-functional. Scrolling down each bucket is very slow, but trying to actually edit a task during the call is nearly impossible. It's so slow that when you finally get to click on something (to change a user, edit the title, or add a checkbox item or description, it will eventually change the position on the screen and then select a different thing than you intended. Minimum time to edit only the title, for example, is at least 2 minutes.
140 open task 640 closed. 14 buckets. And experiencing the same thing. slow loadning and unresponsive plans. We've deleted 200, or so, completed task. Before that it was almost unusable

I agree with everyone here. Planner is a nice app, but it doesn't scale. To be useful, you have to be able to create as many tasks as you need to (well within reason). I have a board with 130 tasks and it's very laggy, to the point of being unsable. Trello is not so and that's your biggest competitor. You need to address this as a top priority if you want this to be a serious contender for business and enterprise usage and not just a toy
MS PLANNER DOESN'T SUPPORT TOO MANY CREATED TASK, AFTER 100 TASK IT WILL START TO LAG. ALREADY TEST IT MANY TIMES, ALL MS SERVICE ALSO ONLINE EXCELL WILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE.
+1000. This is currently the biggest pain for me working with Planner.
We currently have about 25 Plans in place, and loading My Tasks view or any of the Plans with a higher number of tasks takes a very long time before one can interact with the UI.

Wow, it used to be great. Now it's awful.

I have to wait about 5 minutes when I open a planner page before it is usable. It takes that long to load. Also when I open a Task it takes over a minute to view the sub tasks.
Yes, extremely slow compared to Asana and other similar platforms. Login takes nearly 30 seconds. This is strange, I can cold boot my PC in under 10 seconds...

We have the same issue. Any web browser, after clearing cache, using a web browser with no add-ins. It's painful and is making working with it really difficult.
We are experiencing the same issue in Planner via ANY web browser (including incognito/inprivate; no add-ins used) (android app works flawlessly however). We have a single plan with 13 buckets, 379 completed and 171 open tasks). Loading isn't too bad, but inputting text in a new task is painfully unresponsive. Doing everything else there are no issues (e.g. editing tasks). Have tested this on multiple computers, multiple internet connections.
If we add an empty, new plan, then we do not experience this issue.

In one of our bigger plans (currently 490 closed tasks, 90 active tasks), the average loading time in Google Chrome is somewhere around 30 seconds until the user can start interacting with the UI. With Microsoft Edge it is mostly even slower (about 35 to 40 seconds). The hardware shouldn't be the problem (ThinkPad S440 i7 SSD 8GB).
Smaller plans (about 10 tasks) are loading a lot faster (mostly about 3-5 sec.).
