Add Recycle for deleted tasks in Plan
Currently there is no possibility to restore deleted tasks and no option to restrict deletion. Assigned person can delete task and say after that haven't seen it.
In other case, deletion can be done by reason. Nevertheless, ability to restore is important.
Both situations can be handled by old good Recycle for deleted tasks, placed under Plan options. With ability to restore task with all important info: attaches, comments, check list etc. Restore of bucket and labels is nice to have.
Planner Buckets needs an archive capability. A way to set a bucket to "Archive" or otherwise hide buckets is critical. We complete a dozen Campaigns (buckets) a month and the completed items scroll off to the right. We should have a way to archive or hide
-- completed buckets, or
-- buckets without changes over a certain age, or
-- buckets with zero tasks due, or
-- buckets by date (last year?), or
-- buckets we select as "Archived."
A filter to display archived buckets, especially with options to display them by year or age, would be helpful. Plus, as others have said, having to drag a bucket across dozens or hundreds of bucket columns is extremely poor UI design.

I made a copy of a plan and then I deleted the copy, it also deleted the original!
I had a working plan with so many tickets and just deleted one I didn't need and POOF they are ALL gone!!!
And no way of recovery! At least place a recycle bin for 30 days...
I am angry because I must rewrite a plan that was accidentally deleted!
What’s going on in the minds of people who neglect backup and restore?
If I was taking IT-decisions in my organization, I would never allow anyone to use Planner for serious business. It’s just too expensive to pay people for doing the same work several times.

This feature is highly desirable

Why isn't this feature out yet?!

This request is almost 5 years old, with over 3,300 votes, and almost 700 votes in this thread - and there are other smaller threads.... at least 4,000 votes for this.

There should be a soft deletion like on other MS365 apps. Without that there is no way to undo accidental (or not) actions from users. Definitely not usable this way for core projects.

It is absolutely necessary otherwise it is useless!
This is a serious shortcoming - it's too risky to roll out Planner if somebody can randomly delete a task with no audit trail and no way of recovering the deleted task. I've searched Power Automate for a workflow template that would generate an email alert whenever a Planner task is deleted - that would provide a basic safeguard - but there's nothing.

Wow, it's madness that this can't be done! I'm looking at moving over from Trello, but the lack of an archive or recycle bin means I can't recommend it to my organisation
Seems like this would be a standard feature on any enterprise product.
You can’t taste the teapot, http://cc.vmm789.com it doesn’t matter, it’s a round pottery product
Just plain stupid to have no way to recover something that contains so much
Team member deleted about 50 tasks accidentally and they appear to be lost forever. Software not fit for serious use. No response from the team despite being one of the top upvoted tasks? Not great.

This is so critical - people often delete by mistake or assume this is saved elsewhere outside the MS Team it was created in.
This is really really important, people are so used to be able to restore deleted things. Please do look into this ASAP.
There needs to be a way to restore deleted tasks or buckets. CANNOT believe this isn't a default feature!!
Vvvvviiiiippppp. Can not express how important this is for us
This stops us from taking this forward as an org-wide business tool.
