I want a "Convert to Task Planner" button for emails
Most of our tasks come in via email, a simple button to convert it to a planner task would be imperative, otherwise it renders the planner a little bit pointless for us.

As an update, our colleagues in To-Do have delivered the ability to create tasks directly from Outlook.com!
To-Do has rolled out the Tasks Pane for Outlook.com’s Mail & Calendar, and is also the new Tasks for Outlook.com! With Planner’s & To-Do’s integration, we hope that To-Do will become a central hub for all of your personal tasks, and that switching to Planner to collaborate with others is seamless!
Here’s more information on the To-Do’s task experience within Outlook: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/using-microsoft-to-do-with-outlook-com-416865a1-0c4d-4e69-af6f-f98ffce3747c

Also waiting for this. Nearing a year of "Scheduled". An update would be wonderful!

Any ETA on this feature? Kind of crazy that similar non Microsoft products (Trello, Meistertask, etc.) have this and Planner doesn't.
Only thing keeping me from moving 100% to Planner.

Thank you for updating the response of may 2018: where are you?
It's for me and my clients priority # 1 ! -

I need that too please! And also syncrhonisation between Planner and Outlook (create a Planner task from Outlook, manage it in Planner or Outlook, and see the result in both). I found this useful workaround in the meantime, until Outlook, Planner and To-do get fully integrated/syncrhonised. It is a Flow routine that create automatically a new Planner Task for each email that you flag in Outlook. Better than nothing for now.

The last admin comment suggesting this add-in was in final design phase was from May 2018-- any ETA on when we could expect to see this feature? It's hard to transition from Trello to Planner without it.

A crucial feature for me is to quickly access the email from the Planner task in the same way as the Outlook ToDoList feature.

Just make it so we can send email to Planner, either to an "Inbox" on Planner (my preference) or to individual plans.
Once in the Inbox the task could be triaged into the appropriate plan.

Will this be available for Gmail and other email services as well?

maybe also double: to create directly a planner task and prompte to TEAMS -

hi, this is definitely one of the most imperative new feature, as most tasks come-in by email. As a temporary workaround I had to create a Microsoft Flow and trigger it when an email is flagged.
When will this be launched?

HI. I would like the ability to add an email to an existing Card or create a new Card. Sometimes I get additional information or documents that I want to add to an existing task.

I noticed that the "Integration with outlook tasks" idea that has accumulated 8,539 votes recently had an update from the admins that said "We’ve pivoted our work here to focus on our integration with ToDo, rather than an Outlook Add-in."
Does this pivot to ToDo also mean that the Convert to Planner Task from Outlook feature is also being abandoned?
This is the core feature that I (and obviously many others) need to put Planner into our workflows. I find it odd that Trello, which is not made by Microsoft, has tighter integration with Outlook than Planner which is made by Microsoft.
Please provide feedback on the future of this proposed feature if possible.
Thank you. -
